dpberr Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Clapping? Why stop there? Nothing says good play in a 7/7 like tearing down the goal post.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Clapping? Why stop there? Nothing says good play in a 7/7 like tearing down the goal post. Word!
MRW Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Obviously the proper approach is to clap and boo at the same time, regardless of the outcome of the play.
eme123 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Id prefer the clapping to stop as well. Why doesn't everyone in the stands just lift up your right cheek and fart! That may be more fitting
Clippers of Nfl Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I hope that none of you are stupid enough to clap when there's a good play at camp. This has been one of my pet peeves. #1 no matter what, if one player on your team does something well, it's exposing another player. #2 when they break a long run, chances are the RB would have been crushed 3 yards past the LOS. Sorry for the rant your apology is not accepted. maybe we're supposed to moon the players on a good play. yes?
brenty Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 you know what pisses me off... a guy who starts a forum and never responds back to it after realizing he is an idiot
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 On further review, it seems advisable to clap in a less-than-wholehearted way to simultaneously acknowledge the positive aspect of the play but to also mitigate that fact with the equally important negative aspect of the play. Perhaps one hand clapping?
The Dean Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 WOW! All of a sudden this thread became interesting. Whodda thunk it?
KD in CA Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Whoa whoa whoa....first of all I live in Connecticut so I know stuff...the "leisure class" never would use that label...they prefer the term "moneyed", secondly they never would say anything about "penis" and they prefer the word "tinkle", you-rine sounds like something a red necked fellow would say. However, I whole heartedly agree with the discrete clap, murmor of approval or just a simple head nod is more than sufficient. Correct assessment. But if I catch you driving that GM car in my neighborhood again, I'll have you arrested.
Hossage Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Perhaps we should clap on every play, or have the coaches play a clap tape. Possibly a ratings system like in the olympics could be instituted, with every player having his own section, so we can be sure whether one players good performance comes courtesy of another players poor performance or not, as was the concern of the OP. Or, we can just figure that the fans are trying to support the players as much as possible, and even if they get it wrong a little, it really is nice to see.
cåblelady Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I vote we make meow noises. Big Cat is no longer with us.
The Dean Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Big Cat is no longer with us. Really? When did that happen?
KD in CA Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Really? When did that happen? He ran one too many stop signs on his bike.
cåblelady Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Really? When did that happen? .....you do realize I'm referring to JP, eh? P.S. Luv ya! -b
