Like A Mofo Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Trade 2/3/2004 NEW YORK (Sports Network) - The New York Yankees and New York Mets have reportedly agreed on a deal to swap lefthanded relievers. The New York Daily News reported Friday that the Yankees will re-acquire Mike Stanton from the Mets in exchange for Felix Heredia. Stanton confirmed the trade with the paper in a phone interview, and an official announcement could come as early as Friday. Two years ago, Stanton signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Mets after rejecting a two-year, $4.6 million offer from the Yankees, who decided to sign Chris Hammond as their lefthanded setup man.
Alaska Darin Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Any time you can remove a Heredia from your team...
Pete Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 We got rid of Hereida! WOOOHOOO! PT Barnum was correct!
Guest Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I don't know much about baseball but this is suppose to be a huge trade? YIKES baseball must really suck!
Alaska Darin Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I don't know much about baseball but this is suppose to be a huge trade? YIKES baseball must really suck! 144563 Welcome to sarcasm, though currently baseball pretty much sucks.
USMCBillsFan Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 woah.....this is groundshaking. 144298 Not huge but a good move for the Yankees. Heredia SUCKS!!
Thurman's Helmet Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Will the Yankees also get to keep the huge pitchfork sticking out of Stanton's back?
OGTEleven Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Any time you can remove a Heredia from your team... 144300 Heredia is another in a long line of pitchers that got bad at the same time Stottlemyre became his coach. Hmmm.

VABills Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I bet Stanton is pissed. He was looking to get some free nookie this year.
Alaska Darin Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I bet Stanton is pissed. He was looking to get some free nookie this year. 144738 But Heredia's happy because he won't be the only one sucking.
Golden Wheels Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 If you have a Heredia, shouldn't you wear a truss?
Guest Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 But Heredia's happy because he won't be the only one sucking. 144746 Appropriately, that set-up pitch ended up in your wheelhouse.
millbank Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 on the heels of the huge trade comes another huge trade , Looking for additional relief help, the New York Yankees on Friday acquired righthanded setup man Felix Rodriguez from the Philadelphia Phillies for aging center fielder Kenny Lofton. Lofton

Lofton 145218 I don't get it....the Phils continue to blow my mind. Nothing like trading for a useless centerfielder.

Lofton 145218 Nice trade for us. Lofton doesnt really have a role for us- especially when we sign Beltran. We need the releif and Rodriquez is solid. I will take his 3.29 ERA

jarthur31 Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 woah.....this is groundshaking. 144298 No surprise that other "big" name teams continue to sign Braves players since the early 90's. We have the best farm system in the world!
