Damian Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Check it out here: http://www.whatifsports.com/beyondtheboxsc...s&Gt1=39002 AFC East Wins Losses New England Patriots* 10 6 New York Jets 7 9 Buffalo Bills 7 9 Miami Dolphins 6 10
EasternOHBillsFan Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 The COLTS will finish 9-7 and not make the playoffs? OK, someone over there got their numbers all jacked up... laughable.
DrFishfinder Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Wow...that AFC East prediction is something. Predicting the Bills & Jets at 7-9 and the Fins in last place is a stretch. Realistically, I would say Jets/Pats/My Yami/Bills. Before I start taking bullets for the Bills here, I think that the schedule plus the other 3 teams either getting better or not suffering any substantial drop offs (plus all the usual things that have been posted to death), will make it very hard for Buffalo to climb out of 4th place this year. I would dearly love to say otherwise.
Doc Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I could easily see that prediction coming true. I've actually been saying the same thing, i.e. 1 playoff team from the AFC East (for all the bluster about the Pats, Jets, and Dols being playoff/SB contenders), the Jets not getting anyone to lay down for them this year, and the Dols potentially bringing up the rear.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I think that prediction is fairly reasonable. I think all hype on the Jets is just that. Dolphins are nothing special and the Pats* are showing cracks. Meanwhile the Bills are moving in the right direction. PTR
Mark Vader Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 The COLTS will finish 9-7 and not make the playoffs? OK, someone over there got their numbers all jacked up... laughable. No kidding. They have the Steelers & Broncos as wild cards, forget it. The Steelers offense is not that good, and the Broncos did nothing to help their porous defense. There is no way that the Broncos will have a better record than the Colts. However, their AFC East predictions would not surprise me.

This is supposedly a simulation based strictly on 2009 stats (so far anyway). So if we did not draft Spiller, and it was still the Smithers/Jauron show, this still would have been the prediction. Plus I suspect this "simulation engine" of theirs does not factor in coaching at all. And the coaching change is the main reason some people think the Bills are "moving in the right direction". If Jauron was still the coach would you still be billieving this "prediction"? Smells like a big pile of dog**** to me.
