Logical Reasoning Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Chris Brown noted in a report that Levi Brown has one of the better arms in camp and he is catching on to the offense which is great news, but, if that is in fact the case, we need to keep him off the practice squad without question. Should we keep him out of the preseason games so none of the other teams can see him? or It does not matter because one of the other three will be cut and we will keep three on the active roster? Some draft guys had him pretty high.

tennesseeboy Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 yeah...and now that he and that Palin girl are getting married he should have more time to devote to football.
H2o Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I don't see how the Bills can stash him in the PS. They are going to cut one of the top three and have Brown as the emergency QB. I still think Brohm is going to end up being the "odd man out".
CarolinaBill Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I still think Brohm is going to end up being the "odd man out". I'm starting to get that feeling also, unfortunately
shane nelson Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I don't see how the Bills can stash him in the PS. They are going to cut one of the top three and have Brown as the emergency QB. Put Levi (cause he likes the name) Brown on the roster as 3rd string. Cut Fitz, other than being a good runner he is terrible. 3rd stringer with no upside.
Doc Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I've been saying since the Bills drafted him that he'd be the 3rd QB and there was no way they'd risk cutting him in order to put him on the PS.
Albany,n.y. Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Put Levi (cause he likes the name) Brown on the roster as 3rd string. Cut Fitz, other than being a good runner he is terrible. 3rd stringer with no upside. Fitzpatrick is 2nd stringer, Brown, the 3rd stringer has upside. Fitzpatrick is not terrible, he was the QB in 5 of the 6 wins last year. Brohm is going to get cut. It's time for all the people with delusions that we could get a high profile guy off a practice squad that the whole league just forgot about until the brilliant front office of Guy & Brandon swooped in & stole him to wake up. You steal low profile guys off practice squads, not 2nd round busts. The best professional talent evaluators passed on Brohm & now all the Brohm fans are finding out why. They excused the debacle in Atlanta because "He was new to the Bills & not ready." Now they & their boy are out of excuses.

And I'm curious to know what exactly all those Brohm fans are now finding out.
cåblelady Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Actually Fitzpatrick is terrible. Horrifically so.And I'm curious to know what exactly all those Brohm fans are now finding out. We're doomed?
Simon Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 We're doomed? It's much easier to deal with when you just accept it!
San Jose Bills Fan Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Actually, this thread is yet another of the dozens of threads devoted to the quarterback pecking order/which quarterback will not make the team. Sure it's ostensibly about Levi Brown but it's a different title on the exact same topic we've been discussing for months. How about something a bit more interesting? Here's Chris Brown's article that the OP cited: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...d2-623c27f4349b Here's Chris Brown's quote: "Levi Brown was mixed in for a few more reps Friday morning. Brown has displayed solid arm strength with his passes through the early stages of camp. His arm is at worst the second strongest in camp." Think about the implications of the bolded sentence.

While it's not likely to find that diamond in the rough guy on someone's practice squad, it's also not unheard of. A prime example is Tony Romo. An undrafted free agent that Parcells was high on. They took the time to develop him and now he's argueably a top 10 quarterback. Personally I'd like to see Edwards back as the starter with Brohm as his back up and Brown 3rd string. IMO Fitz isn't worth $3m/yr. That money could be better spent elsewhere.
Doc Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I also said that if no one from among Trent, Fitz, and Brohm distinguished himself, the Bills should start Brown sooner rather than later.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Chan has said he has the second strongest arm on the team. Trent has the strongest. This is funny ,for all you Trent haters.
UpperDeck Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 If this team were going somewhere this year I'd keep Fitzpatrick for his experience and ability to come off the bench. Since we're going nowhere I'd rather cut Fitz and see Levi as the third string so he can get some reps with the team. Next year Levi and either Edwards or Brohm will be backing up the QB we take in the first round. /Crystal Ball
Mike32282 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Brown is looking good. He has a good arm and is getting better at making the tough throws. I am going to enjoy watching him thru camp.
Meathead Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 99% likely levi goes to the ps - a seventh round rookie is extremely safe on the ps for his first season. virtually every team has their own qb prospect drafted much higher than seventh round already on their roster - fitz isnt a bonafide nfl starter but hes a very reliable backup. its possible trent and brohm would both flame out so badly they snowball to hell and wouldnt even be options. that wont happen with fitz. thus he will stick until one or both establish themselves or bomb out - thus brown will be on the ps until next fall at least
