ChasBB Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I absolutely LOVE this report from Tim Graham: Three reasons I love it: It's about time we quit telegraphing our entire playbook to our competitors! Chan's policy seems to be "We love the fans, but FU, we'll do whatever gives our team the best chance to compete The players are totally behind Chan on this Finally, football before media! Now if we can just get Trent (or whoever the QB of the moment is) to stop talking to the media about how it feels to be #1, #2, #3 and just focus on playing better football, we'd be good to go. I totally agree. In fact, I don't think reporters or fans should be allowed to see practices at all (with some exceptions -- an occasional fan appreciation day here or there, etc.). However, the rest of the time, I'd like to see totally closed practices. This is a business and businesses have to protect their knowledge. I'd also send some people around the neighborhood looking for one of Bilicheat's guys up in a tree with a video camera. I'd also hire someone to check for wires or other hidden recording devices in the locker room, the stands, etc. Call me paranoid -- I don't care. You've GOT to protect your knowledge from the competition at all costs.
mpl6876 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 if that is your take why are you a fan of the bills???we are trying to be positive and encouraging, maybe you tried out for the team and they wouldnt let you play in your skirt.you are a tratior to the team I will be positive when I see a legitimate reason to be positive. I cannot be positive with our current QB,OL, WR, Lack of pass rush, defensive front who can't stop the run, and two coordinators that I am not impressed with. I never did get the argument that if someone says something negative then he is not a fan? Reminds me of the Bush tactics. When someone questioned him he attacked them by saying they were patriotic. Both tactics are flawed and incorrect.
Pilsner Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I'm all for free speech. But statements such as "(1) Maybe Chan doesn't want the media and fans to see how bad we are?" are simply absurd. How do you expect to have any respectability with something like that? Being pessimistic about the Bills is fine considering how they've been the past 10 years. Making decent level headed posts is kewl in my book but some of your statements are "moronic" as another poster stated. Leeds a lot of people on this board to think ur a Troll. Which you probably are. You do make some interesting comments at times that make sense but you also trip over your feet by saying something foolish which makes us all realize ur a Troll at heart. Damnit i shouldn't have just fed you. Sorry folks.

There is healthy skepticism and then there is having your head embedded in your colon. PTR
billsfan89 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I like this but its a very amateur move. Its a little petty but I think that wanting to preserve the element of surprise isn't a bad thing either.
Steely Dan Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 People, don't feed the trolls, please!! I tried that message and was accused of bringing more attention to them.
mpl6876 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 No one is saying we are winning the Super Bowl but you have to be some kind of oblivious not to think the Bills are heading in the right direction. There is healthy skepticism and then there is having your head embedded in your colon. PTR At this point, I don't see much in "heading in the right direction." I could honestly say that if we addressed our QB situation, Offensive Line situatuion, wide receiver position, defensive pass rush, stopping the run, and having experienced proven coordinators on both sides of the ball. Not all of this is possible in one year. However, the regime IMO could have done a lot better in addressing many of these issues. Right now all I see is let's and see. Let's see how our QB does? Let's see how our OL does? Let's see how our young receivers do? Lets see how Maybin does in rushing the QB?, let's see how Troup stuffs the run? Let's see how great Gailey going to do with our offense. I could go on and on. A frustrated fan who isn't afraid to say so.

RI Bills Fan Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 A Freaking Troll who won't shut up. Fixed that last sentence for ya... Go back to PatsFan.cheat, Troll!

You're one odd troll for sure. Being civil and uncivil. make up ur mind will u. Be a Troll of consistency. Lately you have been civil which is kewl. Doesn't make one forget the past incivilities tho.

I am going to delete it. I am afraid the damage may already be done. But, at least I admit it was over the top. Sometimes I let my frustrations get the best of me.

mpl6876 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 mpl, see a psychiatrist. For you own health. If I recall correctly your last post to me was rude and uncalled for. Yet, I was very civil with you.

Thurman#1 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I absolutely LOVE this report from Tim Graham: Three reasons I love it: It's about time we quit telegraphing our entire playbook to our competitors! Now if we can just get Trent (or whoever the QB of the moment is) to stop talking to the media about how it feels to be #1, #2, #3 and just focus on playing better football, we'd be good to go. Our playbook is 99.8% the same as other teams. The terminology is different, but everybody runs the same stuff, and have been since way before Lombardi. Trick plays are the exception, but you don't need to hide an off-tackle play. The playbooks are the same. Of course the players are behind him. He's the boss. He could fire them. And he's brand new. A new coach, particularly if he hasn't lost any games yet, gets the benefit of the doubt. Hard to love this. Hard to care. It's an insignificant detail. Any way it helps the team will be compensated for by how it hurts the media and the fans. It's a negative, IMHO, but a very small one.
reddogblitz Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 If I recall correctly your last post to me was rude and uncalled for. Yet, I was very civil with you. I guess it's kindof of cool, but really, what does it accomplish? So it stops the news guys from filming plays and formations etc. So I guess when Ryan and Bellycahe watch the news they can't see what we're doing. Fans can see everything and shoot with their video cameras. So if an opposing coach wants to get some film on us, all he has to do is send a guy with a Bills TO jersey to sit in the stands and film practice with a video camera. So what's been accomplished? I don't feel sorry for the news guys though.

mpl6876 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 you do..... Well, thanks for paying attention to detail.
