Yeah, I sure did catch that. But, since I'm an AAer myself, I'm not sure if everybody would have caught that.........I like how they portray Freddy now - he seems very alive, and doing great in recovery.......Contrasting that with Don, who is showing chinks in his armor, for sure.

Big time....losing the stability of home/family is taking it's toll.

I couldn't quite figure out the scene with his secretary. Was he just intentionally acting like it didn't happened, not acknowledging it at all? You'd think an "it was a mistake" talk would have be the right move, but I guess that's Don not being able to deal with his personal issues. She was not a happy camper.

Tonights episode was kind of head scratcher, but I very much enjoyed it. It was almost like two episodes in one. One interesting thing, I thought, you get to see how Don Draper and Dick Whitman are two different people. I almost half expected Dick to get together with Anna. I know, from very personal experience, how great it is to be able to talk to your significant other... Dick has that with Anna. Don never had it with Betty.

The whole Don and Lane double date thing was hilarious...never laughed as much during this show, and Roger wasn't even in it, except the one meeting shot, at the very end. This show is so well done. It is starting to feel more and more like a great movie, not unlike the Sopranos (my first small screen love)...you just never know where story will take you. I was kind of on edge during the second half of the episode. I almost thought Lane was going to beat up the escort, or something weird like that...it was kind of uncomfortable...but it all seemed to turn out well.

It is so well done. Hamm did a great acting job at the very end. When Joan called the meeting to order, they then put the camera on him before fading to black. And, he looked way more vulnerable than at any time in all the previous episodes. No words or anything and yet he was able to express everything - by looking downward, etc.........First episode that I remember without Betty Draper in it.

I saw in next week's previews that Trudy Campbell will be on. I never even noticed how hot she is until sometime last year (probably because she's married to Pete), but here's some pictures that really convinced me

Yes, Trudy is a babe! I think she is also on a sit-com, my ex was watching, first time I noticed her.

Agreed, Jon Hamm was amazing in that episode. Thematically, the show treads a lot of the same waters that the Sopranos did. Don Draper and Tony Soprano, the two "anti-heroes". Funny thing is, I think Tony is a lot more honest with himself. Draper just can't deal with the truth, in any way.

Alison Brie is on "Community" which isn't great but isn't bad, either. You couldn't tell how hot she was on that show because for the first half the season, she dressed kinda like Trudy Campbell. Then in one episode she was wearing a tight tank-top and had changed her hair a bit and I, of course, exclaimed "Holy smokes!" It was quite a night for me. :bag:

I decided to go back and watch MM from the beginning. I'm about 1/2 way through season 2. Now I understand what I was missing. Fantastic show.

Yeah, you really have to watch MM from the beginning to appreciate the whole thing..........I was reading an interview or something with Alison Brie a few months ago (she does a lot of sketch comedy and stuff like that) and she mentioned that scene you're talking about on Community (which I should check out). She joked that "the writers seem to forget that I have a great rack!"

You can do worse than spending the next 44 seconds watching this

Don Draper has lost his wife, his talent is suffering, and he is now banging a diner waitress. In short, he's become Tiger Woods.

....a drunk Tiger Woods.

Funny/sad that he basically blacked out the whole weekend....passed out with one chick and woke up with another. Forgot the whole conversation with Peggy, etc.

I always thought she was really pretty, but holy crap, what a body.

I know - they really hide that awesome body of hers! Mad Men wins third straight Emmy. And, a Clio all in the same night....What a show!

It was great how that paralleled with how Roger hired Don. Also, the waitress called him "Dick". Wonder why he'd give his "real" name.

Yes, definitely. That whole sequence was good -- especially Joan in that dress! I always like the flashbacks to the young, earnest Don.

Also, funny to see Duck Phillips off the wagon and disrupting the Cleos.

I never notice bloopers or whatever they call them on imdb, but when you first see younger Don and Roger, Roger's hair is much less whiter than today. And, then the next time they went back to the younger days, his hair was almost as white as today. A little continuity issue on that one.

They are on the cover of this week's Rolling Stone. Inside the best show on TV (I'm glad I renewed and my issues started coming again):

There's a round-table discussion of the show each week on ThisWeekIn.com. Here's a link for this week. The girl is Jamie Fox. She's Kevin Pollack's girlfriend and appears on his weekly "Chat Show".

Cool - I was listening to Brad Riter yesterday and he and Scott were talking all about Jersey Shore, which they often do.....Since I don't watch it and from afar I hate it, I was thinking that this is boring unless you watch the show. But, too bad there isn't a discussion of Mad Men I can listen to. Now, I can!

Always enjoy Mad Men, but, honestly, overall, I thought this past episode was just alright. I hope this show isn't getting too proud of itself. The week before, I thought it was a little out of character, when Sterling got all wacked out of shape over dealing with Honda. But, they really milked the humor out of it, so, I could take it. But, this week, I thought all of the characters were kind out of character, and the dialog was a little too clever to be believable. Don't get me wrong, Mad Men is still my favorite, but I just thought the last two episodes were kind of inconsistent.

btw- I have a theory about Sally, Betty and the late Grandpa Gene... I am thinking grandpa may have had improper relations with his daughter, and perhaps his granddaughter too... the scene two weeks ago, where Betty was in the child psychiatrists office kind of had some undertones to it... just a hunch...the way Sally started "acting out" when Gene died...I am normally wrong on these things...

Actually, Jason Whitlock tweeted that theory a a week or two ago (and said all credit goes to his buddy who came up with a month or so ago).......It does seem to make sense.

I really liked this episode. It seemed unrealistic to me for the first three seasons that there could be such much heavy and hard drinking and no consequences.........Now, you're seeing blackouts and other realistic effects of hard hard drinking.

But, I did think the Roger Honda thing was way out of character. And, actually I was thinking that his humor does not seem as sharp as it did the first three seasons. (Well, except for when he was doing the Bob Newhart type phone call with the Lucky Strike guy and mentioned horse racing as an option for advertising. He gets an earfull and then says No, it's the jockey that is smoking)

I never thought I would hear men chatting about "as the world turns". Get your hair dryer on, open up that box of Bon-Bons and turn to page 3 of soap opera digest.

How is it a soap opera? Have you ever seen it?..........Third straight Emmy - out of three seasons. I don't think Melrose Place did that....

It even had a famous soap opera star as the announcer at the clio's.
