Chef Jim
The apocalypse never arrived. In fact, it seems this city was so bad at being a city that outsourcing — so far, at least — is being viewed as an act of municipal genius. And the county is bad at being a county, the state is so bad at being a state, the feds are so bad at being the feds. This just points out how wrong all those people are that want the government to run their lives. They can't, it's up to us.
Hossage
The next step is to have the people contract their services directly.
Chef Jim
The next step is to have the people contract their services directly. Only if that step is preceeded by the elimination of any city taxes they pay.
UConn James
But in that neighbor city of Bell, Calif., mentioned in the article, there is a pay scandal afoot. The mayor makes $800K --- twice POTUS's salary, among others who get a very comfortable pay grade that the incestuous board/council got to vote themselves. CA town outraged to learn of officials' pay There needs to be a nationwide initiative for salary increases of public officials -- local, state, federal --- to be voted on by the people. Situations like this will always happen as long as the foxes are allowed to run the hen house.

It seems obvious that bond issues paid for it. Dare I say that city has succumbed to Mexican politics?
