NAACP accuses Tea Party of being racist

Recommended Posts

What is on video tape? Are we even talking about the same thing?

There is a tape, widely seen, that shows the two New Black Panther party members intimidating voters at a polling place in Philadelphia. One of them is brandishing a billy club. This same person has been seen on other tapes talking about killing "crackers" and their babies. Can you actually say you haven't seen it? What do you do, rely on your news from NBC?

How can anyone be intimidated? One just walks in and votes... One gets beat, you make the news big time. I mean really, if it is your PROPER POLLING place, how can anybody be intimidated? For crying out loud... It is in your neighborhood/precinct... WTF is one doing living there anyway if they are scared? Just lay your body on the line... I would love to see them try and beat my family or me.

Gee, would it ok for the KKK to stand outside a polling place spouting racial epithats in a predominantly black precinct? Do you think someone there might be intimidated? Neither case would keep me from voting and may not keep you either. Could it supress the overall vote though once word got out? Might the little old lady choose not to vote?

You ask what is one living there anyway if they are scared. The intimidators came in from another area. It wasn't their neighborhood. Why were they there if not to suppress the vote? Have you seen any of the other tapes from the one guy? If you had you might get an idea of how he can act.

You forgot to add that they were wielding bats. Not that it's important to get so detail oriented or anything.

Could you imagine if there were some "Tea Party" members who would have been sporting nightsticks, attempting to intimidate black voters from voting?

Just because there is a video, they admitted it and the one was convicted doesn't mean there is proof you know.

Most hateful racists wouldn't.

Ah, I see. This guy really seems sincere and that makes him credible. Well, post some links. I post links all the time when I have original sources. Why don't you actually contribute something for a change.

I know I'll get blasted here for responding politely to your post but I will do it anyway. Remember that Obama is just as white as he is black and depicting him as a witch doctor isn't racist unless you view it through a racist lense. That depiction was policy based not race based. It is you and others that see it as racist because you aren't able to view it based on the issue itself.

I don't consider an article in any publication "an original source" compared to what somebody says directly in testimony or in an interview. I'm drawing my conclusion about the Black Panther case based on the tape of the incident, what Adams said about the Justice Department's decision to drop the case and the response by the Justice Department. I am not basing it on what some writer wrote about the incident.

There's always Bob Dole with a pen. I heard he gives Sharpton panic attacks.

It's on video and they admitted to it you dumbass.

Ok then, it's very clear we are not talking about the same thing at all. I am talking about the act of dropping the charges, you people are talking about the act that the charges were brought up on. They are two different actions by different people. I had assumed the anger was over the dropped charges. My bad.

This pretty much sums up why you and the congressman appear to be out of the loop. BTW, for all the jokes and barbs thrown at them during the great american Obama love-in, turns out that Hannity, Beck and Palin were all correct about Obama. The president, through his and his AG's actions condone and protect voter intimidation of white people. Time to stop watching the government run media and re-educate yourself.

We're not out of the loop. We just don't find this as outrageous as you. When you have a distorted view of reality (like Glenn Beck) you tend to find non-outrageous things to be outrageous.

I see nothing at all racist in the billboard. 60% of people say they think socialist when they hear Obama's name. They are just reminding people of other socialist regimes.

It was OK when all those posters of Bush as Hitler were around though. The ones around now of Obama are by the LaRouchites, it even says so at the bottom of their posters.

Pay attention. I didn't say the billboard showed they were racist. I said it made them look like lunatics. They keep the racists around to try to make themselves look reasonable by comparison.

The fact that the Tea Party condemned the billboards accounts for nothing I assume.

Oh BTW the funny thing is that's the only reason we keep you around. :bag:

The conservatives don't intimidate that way... They are sneakier and use thier power and influence to intimidate. Like getting the power structure and police to tell people they will be checking for convicted felons and what not (2000 FLA). Or the authorities that are racist will just send voters on a wild goose chase trying to find their polling places or drop the voters from the rolls (FLA 2000) That is why the conservatives don't get the benny of doubt when it comes to rascism... They are more entrenched in the power structure.

And no... I don't condone violence. Why weren't the police called in to press charges against these people?

I have repeatly stated that this is a one-way street when it comes to racism. In this case, it is very much a two-way street where the liberals should NOT get the benefit of doubt either.

What I am also trying to say is these tactics (violence) are so stupid and easily avoided, it is amazing they work in today's era... And so easily corrected. The tricky sneaky crap, not so easy.
