ExiledInIllinois
TRULY SAD!!! Anyway... I just went to Shipshewana (Indiana) with the familia and they got quite a lot of Amish there... Quite a lot of businesses too... Including a Amish/country themed waterpark... Yes, Amish themed indoor water park! Splash Universe Coverty hidden into the countryside... I noticed you couldn't even draw the curtains up (and have them held there) at the hotel... Looked right out into a farm field. I do suspect the Amish have cash... I don't think they are walking (or riding) around with it? You see people all the time going around town and such... They gotta be going to get something... Of course they don't use a debit card! How do they pay for their stuff? Tabs? I would think not? YOu see them working iun business... Is it strictly barter? It is 7 bucks for a buggy ride. It was refreshing to eat out in a nice country restaurant and have the waitress say: "I will be going on a break... Yet, [name of other waitress] will be he to finish helping you." Being Amish does make a great "cover" for not having any cash on hand! Any help with these questions?
