whateverdude Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 If the FBI has been watching them since 2004 but waited until now to break the spy ring up they must have had evidence of espionage. If no sensitive info was taken why bust the ring now? It just does not add up unless the spy's did pass sensitive info back to Russia was caught "red" handed by the feds and to get out of hot water laid down a get out of jail card. I believe the Russian spy have some real juicy embarrassing stuff on some high up Dems. Reset switch my butt And no, I don't watch too many spy movies.
drnykterstein Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I believe the Russian spy also had some real juicy embarrassing stuff on some high up Dems. I love a good conspiracy theory. Tell us more.

whateverdude Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Its Dick Chenny's fault along with Blackwater. Come-on!! Sorry I'm not taking this one on face value, it's BS
erynthered Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Sorry I'm not taking this one on face value, it's BS I'll agree. I'm not up on all of this, however it sounds like the US is getting Squat in return. Not sure right now,. And I'm sure as it plays out, we wont know ****!!
GG Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Sorry I'm not taking this one on face value, it's BS One of the stories was that the "Murphys" were fed up and were going to hightail out. Since they were the bigger fish in the US, FBI decided to move now. This has been nothing more than entertainment.

Might be about the FBI trying to be relevant before funding decisions are made- or could be they wanted to make an exchange and needed something to exchange- usually if you know about a spy ring and said spy ring didn't really have the ability to get vital information, the last thing you'd do is bust them, you'd use them to spread disinformation.
whateverdude Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 the last thing you'd do is bust them, you'd use them to spread disinformation. Yes, I agree they would get more value out of disinformation than in a swap.
....lybob Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 4 people charged with espionage in exchange for 10 people charged with being unregistered foreign agents 1 espionage guy = 2.5 unregistered foreign agents
UConn James Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Wouldn't be surprised if it were connected with the 'New START' treaty discussions.
drnykterstein Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 1 espionage guy = 2.5 unregistered foreign agents How many furlongs is that?
OCinBuffalo Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 The suck part is we will never really know what happened until we are too old to care. This could mean any number of things. The only thing I would add is perhaps we don't want to expose our counter intelligence methods? They worked this time, no reason to drag them out into open court, and then have to come up with new ones? I prefer to look at it positively, and I have no reason to think this is something this Administration is doing wrong.
whateverdude Posted July 9, 2010 Author Posted July 9, 2010 I prefer to look at it positively, and I have no reason to think this is something this Administration is doing wrong. Said the lamb to slaughter. I know there is power in positive thinking but i'm damaged in that department.
Chef Jim Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Said the lamb to slaughter. I know there is power in positive thinking but i'm damaged in that department. Yes I agree, your thinking is damaged.
Hossage Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I dont know the propaganda aim with this spy thing. But I'm not taking it for face value.
drnykterstein Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Ok, I have a new theory... this whole Russian spy thing is just one big trailer and viral marketing campaign intended to promote the move Salt. I mean have you seen the trailer, the timing is just too good to be true.
