/dev/null Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/07/02/californi...wage/index.html Props to the Governator. The Legislature can't seem to balance the budget, so Arnold found his own cost cutting measure. And he didn't even have to lay off any teachers or police

Jim in Anchorage Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 The workers will get their missed wages once a budget is enacted, she said. I knew there was a catch.
3rdnlng Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Dare I add with interest? We shall see. He's still just a "Girly Man".
Astrojanitor Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 why would you celebrate his cutting the salaries of working people in half because the government can't get it's act together? You ever try living on minimum wage? It's like $13-14K a year. Now he cuts the state congressmen and state senators wages to that and I applaud. Now he's just ruining lives because a bunch of politicians refuse to do their jobs
Kevin Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Bad Idea. He cut the state workers pay, not the state legislatures pay! It should be the other way around.
murra Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 why would you celebrate his cutting the salaries of working people in half because the government can't get it's act together? You ever try living on minimum wage? It's like $13-14K a year. Now he cuts the state congressmen and state senators wages to that and I applaud. Now he's just ruining lives because a bunch of politicians refuse to do their jobs but why would you celebrate his cutting the salaries of working people in half because the government can't get it's act together?
Astrojanitor Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 but why would you celebrate his cutting the salaries of working people in half because the government can't get it's act together? well they aren't working people, are they? That explains the lack of budget. Why punish those who have nothing to do with the problem while rewarding the incompetent?
OCinBuffalo Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 well they aren't working people, are they? That explains the lack of budget. Why punish those who have nothing to do with the problem while rewarding the incompetent? Now that's how to make that argument. Incompetent vs. competent. I have no problem docking/firing the incompetent. Working vs. what? Not Working? BS. Many of us own companies here and I assure you we work much harder than any "working man" you care to name.
Chef Jim Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Sorry, no can do. Funny how the computers can raise their pay but it can't lower it.
KD in CA Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 but why would you celebrate his cutting the salaries of working people in half because the government can't get it's act together? Because those people ARE the government. The biggest obstacle to balancing the CA budget is the labor unions these people all signed up with.
