WWVaBeach Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I didn't feel a thing. But then again I'm in Va Beach. But it's in the Buffalo News and I saw it posted on FB.
BarkLessWagMore Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Yes -- felt it. I am out by the airport. Others felt it in Rochester so it certainly covered a large area.
ConradDobler Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Yup. It went on for several seconds, too. Not just a sharp thump.
SonOfWade Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 We felt it across the street from the airport. My wife felt it in Amherst.
BarkLessWagMore Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 From the D&C People from Michigan eastward reported feeling the earth move shortly before 2 p.m. today. The U.S. Geological Service said it was centered in the Lake Champlain area. " We were rocking pretty good up here," said John Castor of North Rose in Wayne County. He said he was on the phone at the time and felt a circular motion and then some aftershocks.
Beerball Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 From the D&C Isn't mead closer to Champlain than the rest a yous? Wonder why he didn't feel anything?
Heels20X6 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Rocked our building here in Ottawa, Canada. Also felt in Toronto, Montreal and Boston according to friends of mine! THE EARTH IS ANGRY!!!
BarkLessWagMore Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Isn't mead closer to Champlain than the rest a yous? Wonder why he didn't feel anything? I believe wine is a numbing agent.
ricojes Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Yep, shook my house in Amherst, was very strange. Thought it was a low flying helicopter or something at first. Buffalo news link...
DC Tom Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 A 5.5 near Ottawa. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/rec....52.-80.-70.php Because the northeast is basically a great, big granite block, seismic waves travel a long ways.
bbb Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Didn't feel it in South Buffalo, but I have felt two others in the last 15 years.
Beerball Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 What? No derision from the Californians? People are becoming to lax around here.
Hossage Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I noticed a tiny sway in my chair, but I thought that was just in my head. I could barely feel anything.
erynthered Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 What? No derision from the Californians? People are becoming to lax around here. You can say that again.
