That is the amount the state will kick in if the deal goes through. So many people have to be paid off for this to happen that it is moving very slowly. I live near the 92 year-old Nathan Benderson. In WNY's case, that's a good thing since the grass is less green elsewhere (particularly in the southeast or west)... On the other hand, we've got the best commuting time performance of any medium to large U.S. city. Whoo Whooo! I have to laugh at people talking about traffic in Buffalo. The average commute in my area (SF Bay) is about 30 miles. I was going to the Oakland airport at 5:30 AM for a flight. My niece picked me up about 5 PM Buffalo time. She was apologizing for the "traffic' on the Mainline Thruway in Cheektowaga. The traffic on that was less than the traffic I saw at 5:30 AM here. It's be interesting to see how many cities are liek a hour and 15 minutes like Buffalo and Rochester are. I don't think there are as many as you would think. Too lazy to really quick it now though.
