Hossage Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I wanted to take the train to Skaville, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf69KPPcumI but the soul train was late so I had go on the night boat to cairo because the orange blossom special http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkKuhOkg1sI took too long and the Crazy Train http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MLp7YNTznE...feature=related wasnt available. At that point it occured to me there are a lot of good songs about trains. Can anyone help me out and supply me with some?
Whites Bay Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 "City of New Orleans" by Arlo Guthrie. As an aside, you'd have to have a good reason to go to Cairo. The problem I'm having as I type this is that I can't imagine for 3 nanoseconds what that reason would be. Nothing would be worth the trip.
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Seems like this thread ran out of steam. Get it? Trains. Steam. Well, maybe this will get things rolling. Get it? Trains. Rolling. Man, I kill me. - Be here all week.
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Sweet sin that Hendrix was good. You can't go wrong with Jimi.
The Dean Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Little Feat's Red Streamliner: http://www.archive.org/details/lf1977-08-10.flacf Click on song to stream. Couldn't find a clean version Savoy Brown, Hellbound Train: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hNjxJCXfis...feature=related A great version of Mystery Train: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3KAdmivOVQ Wish I could find Little Feat's version of New Delhi Freight Train, but this will have to do: Some Doobies, Long Train Running: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWME1zwJXO4 Cannonball Rag: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXFF_8lvuCw...feature=related And, while not strictly a train song, this fits the OP's needs, I think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIKdswTJ2vY

linksfiend Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Beat me to that one, but do these count? Had Johnny Cash on my mind on the car ride this morning after hearing the new Jeep Grand Cherokee commercial and popped into my head. I don't know how I didn't think about it before.
