DrFishfinder
This began a decade ago (2000), continued for 3 years (2000-2002) but the accuser didn't come forward until March 2009? I am in no way making light of the situation if it's true, but this much of a time lapse is odd.

I am in no way making light of the situation if it's true, but this much of a time lapse is odd. It's not odd at all. It normally takes children who are molested years, if not decades, to tell their "secret", if they ever tell at all. The accuser, in this case, was molested from the ages of 11-13, and came forward when they were 20 or so...

thebug
Synopsis, please. I-Nazi's @ work won't allow the link to open. "The 58-year-old Bachman was formally charged on Monday in an Abbotsford court and accused of sexual interference with a person under the age of 14, sexual assault and touching a young person for a sexual purpose." "supposedly began a decade ago when the accuser was just 11 years old. According to the complainant, who first came forward in March 2009, Bachman continued the assault for three years until she was 14."
ieatcrayonz
Not only is he a scum bag but he flaunted it with the name of his band. Overdrive? Yeah. Way over. Maybe someone will Drive over him with a truck. That would be fitting.

stuckincincy
http://www.spinner.com/2010/06/15/bachman-...ssault-minor%2F I wonder what he is alleged to have done? With today's goofy laws, I've said several times - however sad - I wouldn't restrain a child running into traffic to certain death. For I may well be charged as a sexual predator, and be forced to leave my home and my wife. Two years ago here in the greater Cincy area, a kid crawled into a parked car and was roasting. The owner saw that, but rather than rescue the kid and being observed and charged with touching a child, he called the police and waited and watched the suffering. I don't blame him. The days of the natural concern to help a youngster in distress is over.

The days of the natural concern to help a youngster in distress is over. A teacher at my high school was breaking up a cat fight in the cafeteria and dragged one girl off the other one. Apparently, he accidentally grazed the girl's breast and ended up getting fired for sexual misconduct. Nicest guy in the world and a great teacher, and this does him in...while other horrible teachers keep their jobs because of tenure.
Hossage
My cousin was forced to retire early because he said the word 'breast' to a male middle schooler in private. Apparently only the word chest is acceptable for teachers to use until grade 9. He was a reading specialist, and did all kinds of community work. stuckincincy
Yes that is sad. Well over 90% of incidents are perpetrated by those who know the child victim - family and trusted friends. That doesn't matter a whit to the politicos who churn political re-election hay for themselves, and the so-called "helicopter" parents. I recall a tv clip of a City Council meeting populated by same last year, screaming for ever more Draconian laws and punishments. Your child will be abused or get kidnapped or die before I will lift a finger. All I would do these days is provide a report only if detained and asked, lest I be accused and turned over for some grand jury proceeding. Frankly - I wouldn't even call the authorities, because if absent a ready suspect, they would turn their prosecutorial eyes on me. I don't care to be another notch on their belt and a talking point for their re-election campaigns... Very sad.
