OT: DVD burning software

I know who they are after.  I'm also not the one who started into this kid or his mother either.

He isn't running a business, he just wants some DVD's to watch.

The movie companies should go after people trying to make a profit off of them.  I totally agree.

Have a job? Make some product, or provide some service for pay?

Ok if I take your product for free? Ok if you provide a service to me but I don't pay you for it?

I've argued my point over and over.

Listen, if you go to my house and steal something, its theft. You stole something. To say something is more valuable than the next is for me to decide (especially sentimental things).

Well since everyone is different everyone will have a different reaction to having a beer thrown on them or having things stolen from their house.

Oh, everyone reacts differently, so it's okay.

I'll remember that when you break into my house and steal a CD...then instead of the hospital I can put you in the morgue, since I'm just "reacting differently". :w00t:

...but once you see an 8-page thread that bf has contributed to, you have to stop in and gawk at the logical car wreck, don't you?  :w00t:

usually I find myself involved...I should know that if it is over 3 pages, either Ice or BF is involved and nonsense is plenty

The nuance of conversation isn't your strong suit either is it?

The reason people laid into the mother is because she did not think that abetting illegal behavior by her son was a big deal. That's the whole point. Why aren't you advocating the husband to do some free work for the owners of the DVDs?

Yes, people steal pencils from work. Doesn't change the fact that it is wrong and illegal.

Well if you could shoot straight this wouldn't be an either or choice. In my house it would be morgue, everytime.

A typical long thread in which Brandon enters.

if 'P' is true, and 'Q' is true, then 'P' ^ 'Q' is "I like nachos and cheese and the Cardinals rule!"

I have a good feeling you aren't being truthful.

For those that have and want to lock this kid and his mother up, you people have absolutely NO room to speak on this matter.  You should be sitting right next to him.

You don't know me very well then. I have about 80 dvd's at home, all of them purchased.

I find it HILLARIOUS that you are threatening violence against me Tom.

I would think that a smart person that is above everyone else would choose to react in a more senseible manner like calling the police.

That's well and good. I mean EVER. VHS included. In your life have you EVER copied something off the television? Movie, TV show, Awards show, whatever.

Got any Bills games on tape?

If you have you have committed a crime.

No as a matter of fact I don't have any. And if you record a game, it is legal but only for your personal use. They say it every game before the starts. It states blah, blah, blah, for anything other than your personal use, is strictly forbidden.

"Any reproduction other than for personal listening and viewing is STRICTLY forbidden without prior written permission "

swing and a miss - strike 18.

Missed the point again.

If you broke into DC Toms house, and he shot you dead on the spot, some juries might say he over-reacted. But again, he doesn't know that you don't have a gun, that you won't harm his family, etc, etc, so i for one say that if Im on a jury where a man shoots an intruder, I could stare at some boobs in the courtroom the whole time, because my vote will be not guilty.

Artest, on the other hand, knew what happened. Guy has cup, throws it. The WORST that happens is something else gets thrown and guy gets harshly escorted out. He made the situation MUCH worse.

The fan didn't break into him home. It was a public setting. Stop ignoring that.

I am not threatening violence against you. I am telling you what the consequences of your actions would be if you violated my personal property. Reading comprehension is a good thing, you should try it some time.

Making a copy of a broadcast for later viewing is "fair use." That's what pretty much resulted from the "Betamax" case. Once you start making copies and distributing (or broadcasting), that's when you start breaking the law. Try to understand the law before you spout it...
