Hossage Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurling I was a little skeptical at first, but after watching a couple hurling matches, I can say that this is an exciting sport with skilled players. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM-kB1e96CA
LeviF Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurling I was a little skeptical at first, but after watching a couple hurling matches, I can say that this is an exciting sport with skilled players. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM-kB1e96CA My friend's grandfather used to play back in Ireland. By all accounts, it's a grueling sport.
eSJayDee Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 And I thought you meant either "curling" or some sort of aftermath of competitive drinking.
Nanker Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 And I thought you meant either "curling" or some sort of aftermath of competitive drinking. ... as in "hurling at the Ralph?"
buckeyemike Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 It looks like a hybrid mix of golf, lacrosse, and rugby, with some Australian Rules football thrown in for good measure.
HopsGuy Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 That's the Irish for you. "I'd play rugby, but I don't want people to think I'm a wuss. Let's figure out something where we're sure to injure each other."
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I have distant relatives who are quite good at it.
GoodBye Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 My interest in the sport grew after I watched it during the Olympics. Looks pretty fun to play.
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 ... as in "hurling at the Ralph?" Self inflicted even if you don't drink!
