clearwater cadet Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 If Schobel doesn't offically retire, do we have to hold a roster spot for him? What if he continues to state he's not going to play and we cut him in order to free up that roster spot, and then he comes back and goes to another team as a free agent. We could lose out on a possible trade sitution. I would rather trade him for a 7th for a team of his choice then nothings. Does anyone know what the rule is ?

I would think he'd end up on the 'reserve-did not report' list.
