Steely Dan Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/todays-p...4815/story.html If I were a kid I'd keep kicking goals into my own net.
BuffaloBill Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Let them play without goals - then they can just run around chasing the ball.
Steely Dan Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Let them play without goals - then they can just run around chasing the ball. I thought that's what soccer is.
DrFishfinder Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 According to the league's new rules, coaches of stronger teams are encouraged to deter runaway games by rotating players out of their usual positions, ensuring players pass the ball around, asking players to kick with the weaker foot, taking players off the field and encouraging players to score from farther away. Once a team gets 4 goals ahead, how about they put bags over their heads, make them wear diving flippers, and carry a live puma?

Hell i'd even think about playing myself.
John Adams Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 I'm all for being a good sport and not running up the score but forcing a loss on a team that does is dumb.
Hossage Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, winners are losers.

But I would pay to see the rest of that.
Heels20X6 Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Just to update, the rule was rescinded : http://www.ottawasun.com/news/ottawa/2010/...0/14342176.html As a former soccer coach in Ottawa, the rule is ridiculous. I understand the sentiment, to discourage overtly skilled players from running up scores in house league, but they completely ignored the fact that we wanted to reform the league system so that talented players/teams could be relegated upwards. Freakin' soccer board politics...
DrFishfinder Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Personally, I think the puma is overkill. But I would pay to see the rest of that. How about a budgie?
Chef Jim Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Personally, I think the puma is overkill. But I would pay to see the rest of that. Go watch a kid's soccer game, that's pretty much what it looks like. -
