gantrules Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Alfonseca or Reitsma is going to be involved in the moving of Kevin Brown to the Braves.
Thailog80 Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Good question. But Im sure the anti-Yankee whiners will line up and complain how Ill never watch baseball again, but if you look at this trade as a whole, it may not make them any better. 141827 Steve Kline and or Steve Karsey
gantrules Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I speak only for myself, but I am sure many other yankees fans feel the same way. This current squad is missing the "IT factor", and that is because they do not realize what it means to wear pinstripes. 141830 Very well said. As a Braves fan 2004 was much more exciting for me than the last five years simply b/c they weren't expected to win but they did. They showed heart and character. And when you watch the game played that way you know it. And I saw the same thing in the Yanks as you did....they are missing something..heart, passion.

BF_in_Indiana Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Two things. Randy Johnson can still pitch, and this is why the Yankees haven't won in several years. Kneejerk reactions to losses have caused them to fill their clubhouse with names and not teams. When they figure that out they will win again.
JimBob2232 Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 and I dont think george will figure it out until he has a 200 million dollar payroll and a 50 win season.
wwovince Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Well said JimBob. I rather have Vasquez,Pavano or Clement over RJ personally. And yes as a Red Sox fan we will take Pedro no prob. We won a Championship with him not pitching more then 120 pitches right?? LMAO
taterhill Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Have you guys watched the unit pitch...he is as filthy as ever
BF_in_Indiana Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Steve Kline and or Steve Karsey 141838 I actually heard the Yankees want to sign Kline as well. He's a good pitcher (most of the time) but he's a headcase. Not exactly what this Yankee team needs in the locker room and the main reason we are letting him walk.
JimBob2232 Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Have you guys watched the unit pitch...he is as filthy as ever Yes he is a good pitcher. And truthfully I wouldnt mind seeing him on the yankees dispite what i have posted here because he is a competitor and a good team guy, and can still play very well. The problem is with giving up vazquez, who, although I dont think he fits in in NY, is a young pitcher who might be able to develop and be here for many years, and one of our best prospects, albeit a 3Bman whose position is occupied for a few years. It just doesnt make sense.
Alaska Darin Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Al Leiter and Randy Johnson to become Yanks? The Avg age of the starting rotation will be 37-38. And who will set up for Rivera if Gordon goes? 141825 I'm not sure it matters, as Gordon showed he's not a dependable post season option.

Not sure why everyone is so high on him.
Pete Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I'm not sure it matters, as Gordon showed he's not a dependable post season option. 141882 Gordon and Quantrill were the two most overworked pitchers in baseball last year. Both were lights out for most of the year until the innings caught up to them. Johnson will give you 120 rock solid pitches in a game consistently and alleviate the bullpen stress that we endured last year

BF_in_Indiana Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Several? 4 years isnt exactly several... Now 22 years on the other hand.............. 141886 Don't get me started, I'm trying to keep this on a legit level tonight. OK I'll throw one in. When was your last trip to the Series? A hint, longer than the Cards Just joking, like I said, I just want to talk baseball.
Thailog80 Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Honestly right now I dont care what happens....Im dug into the Bills season right now. As long as Brownies gone I don't care about off season baseball right now....see me in a few more weeks...
taterhill Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Pirates picked up Mark Redman and Aurthur Rhodes.....big things in 2005

First pitch. DONG. Had nothing to do with his physical ability.
erynthered Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I also read that Kevin Brown was offered in a trade for a roll of toilet paper. 141819 He'd be on IR of he had to pick up a roll............ I remember how he dove to save his son from flying of his bed. Still, he's got to go, IMO
