I heard about this earlier today. It a good idea for everyone to keep an eye on their credit report history as these guys do make mistakes all the time. I have found some errors over the years and even though they were small ones; enough small "red flags" could potentially pose a problem.

It's legit all right, and everyone would be wise to check theirs annually.
