Mark VI Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Wolfgang was a Kicker who had a cup of coffee with the Bills in the 60's. He was here all of 10 minutes but I'll never forget that name. Hall of Famer Bronko Nagurski probably has the coolest sounding football name but there were plenty of funny, strange and bizarre names throught the history of the NFL. Many can probably recall some good ones I've forgotten. My favorite was a WR that played for the Cleveland Browns in the late 60's, early 70's. His name ? Fair Hooker.
BRH Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Preston Ridlehuber was pretty good. And Tshimanga Biakabutuka. Baseball had some pretty good ones. Shooty Babbit comes to mind. And Jack Fimple.
stuckincincy Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 C Slats Dalrymple of the 1922 NFL Evansville Crimson Giants. Played on the same line with T Bourbon Bondurant.
Beerball Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Not NFL yet, but the college kid named Jawarski Pollack cracks me up.
BRH Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Kirby Kirby Dar Dar. And, also from Syracuse, Sir Mawn Wilson, who I believe had a cup of joe in the NFL.
SonOfWade Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Running back Ben Gay. Would start out cold, but as the game wore on, he'd start to get hot
Johnny Coli Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Shane Falco, QB for the Sentinels. Nigel 'The Leg' Gruff: Hey Shane Falco! I lost a ton of money on that Sugar Bowl disaster of yours. What a bloody shambles that was. You could smell the stink all the way back in bloody Wales. Shane Falco: Nice meeting you.
BRH Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Cosmo Iacavazzi, out of Princeton; played for the Jets in the 1960s. Along those lines, I always thought Gino Cappelletti was a great name.

buckeyebrian Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Randy Rhnyo, Steve Smear, "Earthquake" Enyart (a Bill).
stuckincincy Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Along those lines, I always thought Gino Cappelletti was a great name. 141408 As well as Babe Parelli.
Alaska Darin Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I always liked "Webster Slaughter" because it reminded me of what I wanted to do everytime I surfed across that horrible Emmanuel Lewis sitcom.
R. Rich Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I always liked "Webster Slaughter" because it reminded me of what I wanted to do everytime I surfed across that horrible Emmanuel Lewis sitcom. 141418 Aww, man! That show was sooo funny! Check out these great lines Emmanuel Lewis would say that would be met with a lot of laughter: "Hi." "What 'cha doin'?" "I'm sorry." "I told you so." Classics, all. Damn, that kid was funny! I heard he learned "the arts" from the Gary Coleman School of Saying Anything And Getting Laughs For It.
stuckincincy Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I always liked "Webster Slaughter" because it reminded me of what I wanted to do everytime I surfed across that horrible Emmanuel Lewis sitcom. 141418 What a small comment.
