BLZFAN4LIFE
ahhhh....Beer Week i will be there for the 12.30-4 session....should be a nice steamy day with some awesome beers I've been hearing a lot of commercials on the radio recently for Miller Lite's vortex bottle. I find it astonishing and disappointing that with so many great craft/micro-brews available, the general public is targeted by a billion dollar a year ad campaign to drink mass produced piss water with gimmicks like "drinkability", color changing labels, cold activation window packaging, or a new vortex bottle neck. Step away from the swill people and enjoy the world of great beers that awaits you! Two great beers that I've recently had the pleasure of enjoying... Titan IPA http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/158/11922 Lagunitas IPA Maximus http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/220/1372 I know I don't even have to say this, but have a great time Pooj! Oh, and don't forget your pretzel necklace.
The Poojer
one of the funniest(to me) highlights of miller lite marketing is the 'concept' of triple hopped.....as if that is some major breakthrough in the brewing process.....with my limited knowledge through homebrewing is that everyone triple hops, boiling hop addition, flavoring hop addition and aroma hop addition..... if you ever get the chance in your area, look for the Russian River Pliny the Elder or Pliny the Younger.....very rare on this coast but Philly gets them quite often...exceptional beers.... HopsGuy
It appears that the "Middlebrow beers" are losing market share: Article I suppose that's good news. I'd rather see someone drinking a PBR than hear "I'll have another Bud Light."

It was a truly fantastic experience. I will never think of beer the same way again. I look forward to my next trip up there and I intend to do some research on my own in the mean time. As I've gotten older, that's become about the only time I ever drink beer anymore - with good food. There's nothling like a cold beer to go with a nice meal. I used to drink beer all the time by itself, particularly during game day, but not so much anymore. It's pretty hard to resist, though, when you're staring at a nicely cooked steak or some wings. Phlegm Alley
I did read about the Beer Expo Pooj and I wanted to go badly. Unfortunately, we had the Philadelphia International Cycling Tournament here in Manayunk to prepare for, which is a huge party in itself. I know the beer expo is just one day that really kicks off Philadelphia's beer week which began on Friday, June 4th and will last until the 13th.
