BillsFanNC Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 The new single Caravan is qiuntessential Rush, but it's failing to grow on me yet. There is a definite nod to their early years though with a La Villa-esque jam session around the 3 minute mark. The "I can't stop thinking big" line is too repetitive. BU2B, the 'B' side, might be the heaviest song they have ever done. I know Alex and Neil are big fans of Porcupine Tree and I defintely hear some influence here. This one I like a lot although I'm not a fan of the silly IM/text acronym title (BU2B = Brought Up To Believe). These two songs should come off well live on the upcoming Time Machine tour and they have me excited for what's in store on the rest of "Clockwork Angels" to be released in 2011.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 As most bands age they mellow - Rush goes the other way and gets harder as time goes on. I like all the changes in Caravan - it's got 4 or 5 different signatures alternating through there. Agree that both songs are gonna be killer live.
Philly McButterpants Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I really liked Caravan . . . Kicks major you know . . . I've only listened to BU2B once, so I'll reserve comment.
