Study: Marijuana has no effect on driving skills

Out of curiosity, how many accidents have you seen or heard that were caused only by a driver going obnoxiously slow? Because if that happens, usually someone else is at fault too for not being careful or aware enough.

I agree with you on this, I'm just saying it's a two way street.

You do know that there are minimum speed limits on the expressway... It is usually 45. That is only 10 mph under at best. Same with bicycles not being allowed on.

Just think of all the accidents if there wasn't a minimum speed limit and/or restrictions...

And not necessarily is it the person's fault for not being too careful... When the game is faster (expressway) reaction time is less. I cited the miscue at the Indy 500 this year... The car that crashed had to get through the pack... Yet at those speeds it is even more deadly. Yes, the slow driver can be a fault when everybody is LEGALLY going 55 to 70 mph.

I am aware of the minimum speeds. "Obnoxiously" wasn't a good word for the point I was trying to get across. I meant something more along the lines of just going around the minimum speed limit. But yes, you are right about everything.

Motorcycle Cop: [Mike and Steve are borrowing their friend's souped up police cruiser. However, a harsh bump in the road broke the seal on the nitrous system and nitrous oxide has been leaking in to the car. They've just been pulled over] Tell me, officer, do you have any idea how fast you were going?

Mike: Well, I got a 426 hemi here, 3/4 cams, nitro boosters, I can get 'er up to as good as 155! Never do, though, of course, unless I'm chasing a cute chick in a Ferrari! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I guess I was goin' about... 65, tops.

Motorcycle Cop: SEVEN! SEVEN miles an hour! And normally, when I stop people, they pull onto the *shoulder*!

I've only given the study a cursory once-over and it occurs to me I didn't see what type of pot was used in the study.

If they used a Cannabis Sativa, I don't think the results are that surprising. If on the other hand, they used Cannabis Indica, I'd expect some deterioration in driving skills.

For those of you who don't know, here is a (very unscientific) explanation of the effects of these different types of weed:

The Sativa High :

The sativa high is often characterized as uplifting and energetic . The effects of a sativa marijuana are mostly cerebral. They give a feeling of optimism and well - being, as well as providing a good measure of pain relief for certain symptoms. A few pure sativas are also very high in THC content. They are known to have a quite spacey, or hallucinogenic, effect. Sativas are a good choice for daytime smoking.

The Indica High :

The indica highs are most often described as a pleasant body buzz. Indicas are great for relaxation, stress relief, and for an overall sense of calm and serenity. Marijuana indicas are also very effective for overall body pain relief, and often used in the treatment of insomnia. They are the late - evening choice of many smokers as an all - night sleep aid. A few pure indica strains are very potent in THC, and will cause the "couchlock" effect, enabling the smoker to simply sit still and enjoy the experience of the smoke.

"Couchlock" effect

Wow.. Thanks! I didnt know there was such pure science (still very scientific when you slice it) to it... I just thought it was called: Wheelchair weed.

And I do this with a big: :devil: Which means I am only poking fun at you... No harm, no foul!

How quaint Cincy... Poor, happy people working and dancing for the enjoyment of "well off"/fancy folk... Ah hmmm, I mean... "Young lovers!" :devil:

Yep... Maybe I should get stoned!

I will just plug this in and listen:

"I wanna love you and treat you right;

I wanna love you every day and every night:

We'll be together with a roof right over our heads;

We'll share the shelter of my single bed;

We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread."

:unsure:
