Beerball
Schein Organization rankings Really surprised no one has ripped Schein for his take here. I mean, doesn't he trust Nix and Gailey to get this team over the hump? Proof is in the puddin and so far no babies have been born.

earthtobrint
Question for the blind on this board. HAS THERE BEEN ONE, JUST ONE PERSON IN THE MEDIA WHO'S SUPPORTED THE BILLS OFFESEASON/NIX/GAILEY? Nope, but that's only because every single one of them are worthless morons that aren't fit to state their opinion even though that is exactly what they are paid to do. They are obviously Buffalo haters or don't know anything about our team. No one ripped his rating because like all ratings from 'analysts', they are irrelevant. The actual number rankings are meaningless, but the assessments of the Bills off-season have been accurate.

Stampede
i believe he IS a fan of the Bills but like the majority of us he is frustrated. so, as far as i am concerned he is absolutely correct in his assessment. however, being the eternal optimist i fully support Nix, Gailey and the front office; after all, what choice do i have? having said that i DO BILLIEVE if the dolls can go from 1-15 to winning the division with a no-name head coach--SO CAN THE BILLS. believe me, victory is that much sweeter when we can succeed without a Holmgren, Cower, Gruden or any other marquee name. i don't feel offended by his comments as a Bills fan and i do like what Gailey brings to the organization. "Nope, but that's only because every single one of them are worthless morons that aren't fit to state their opinion even though that is exactly what they are paid to do. BillsVet
Funny, you don't post all the times in the past years when Schein has basically blown the Bills. In fact, he used to call Jauron the most underrated coach in the NFL. But that's won't fit your agenda I guess. Dude, it's beautiful out and it's May. Enjoy it. Over the long haul, being pessimistic and negative about the Bills has proven correct far more often than your unabashed optimism. It's inarguable. And while I don't automatically give credit to every writer's negative opinion, the vast majority have said Buffalo is in big trouble. Heck, Schein even wondered what would have happened if Gailey hadn't been hired as HC. Would he even be in the NFL? But in response to your comment about the weather, today I mowed my lawn, spent time with my mentoree, went to the store, and posted something about the Bills. Thus far, I'v enjoyed the day. But go on being self-righteous and trying to suppress everyone who has anything but unrealistic expectations for the Bills. I mean, I don't play or coach, so I don't know anything and will therefore yield to your omniscience and solid track record of Bills prognostications. Beerball
Question for the blind on this board. HAS THERE BEEN ONE, JUST ONE PERSON IN THE MEDIA WHO'S SUPPORTED THE BILLS OFFESEASON/NIX/GAILEY? Chris Brown has had nice things to say. What would you support? The fact that our O-line hasn't really been addressed? The fact that we're switching defenses and will have many new/unproven faces? The fact that our QB situation looks bleak? The fact that we don't have much of a receiving corp including Evans? What can we be optimistic about? The draft may help the defense in shifting to the 3-4. We have solid returners. We look set at RB. Does the optimism outweigh the pessimism? Not for me, but I'm trying. Meathead
Defense will not be the weak link, not by a long shot. There are far more question marks on offense even with having an offensive minded head coach. There's no way you can support that argument. i will bet you a hundred million real dollars the bills are below the 25th ranked d in the league next season

jahnyc
Schein is either right or not too far off. I have no expectations that the Bills will be successful this year and I have lost all confidence in the leaders of this organization. I think the best we can hope for is that Gailey can improve the offense (which I think he will, marginally) and that the Bills had a strong draft. The Bills have so many needs at some of the most critical positions (i.e., QB and offensive tackle) that it seems impossible that they can be a playoff caliber team in the near future. When are these situations going to be addressed? Until they are, we will not make the playoffs.

I mean, doesn't he trust Nix and Gailey to get this team over the hump? Why would we rip him? He goes out of his way to say that he's a fan. That's what we Bills fans are really hungry for deep in our hearts. He's right. We've reached a point where we have to win to get any respect. Thurman#1
Hard to argue too much with our rating--we're probably somewhere between 20 and 30--but from reading most sportswriters you'd think we finished 3-13 3 years in a row rather than 7-9, followed by a 6-10. We've been a mediocre franchise, not a horrible one, at least record-wise. On the contrary. Record-wise, how many other NFL teams haven't made the playoffs in ten years. One other. The system is set up to lift the records of bad teams. We have refused to be lifted.
Thurman#1
Guys like Schein are masters of the rear-view window. All these ratings are based on where we were. PTR Promo, that's how it's done, unless you have contacts with Mr. Wizard and can get him to reset the controls of the Wayback Machine to the future. You look at the past (including stuff like hiring Gailey and Nix as well as the 2010 draft) and try to intuit the future. There's no other way to do it. Except, I guess, the well-known WAG method (Wild-Ass Guess) or the "16 - 0 Every Year Method." No other reasonable way to do it, put it that way. There are far more question marks on offense even with having an offensive minded head coach. There's no way you can support that argument. If we'd stayed with the 4 - 3, you would have been right. However, with the 3 - 4, the entire front seven has been completely uprooted. Most of them are playing positions they've never played before. Two or three years down the road, this defense might be good. Now, though, all signs point towards major badness for the defense in 2010. I wish it wasn't true. cale
Schein Organization rankings Really surprised no one has ripped Schein for his take here. I mean, doesn't he trust Nix and Gailey to get this team over the hump? Have you read the comments here on the board? As far as I am concerned he is saying the same thing we have been saying here for a long time now. Except he has a national platform to say it. He says he loves the fans and thinks the organization is dysfunctional. Cant say I disagree. Until the organization proves him otherwise, he is on the money. As are we.
