IDBillzFan Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 In-n-Out is on its way. This is one kickass burger (preferably the double-double with cheese and grilled onions). If you live in Texas and love a great fast-food burger, you're gonna dig this place.

My favorite bumper sticker is for In-N-Out Burger where the cut out the B and the R in Burger.
Doc Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 There's a chain called "Five Guys Burgers and Fries" in the Northeast (it started in DC) that make the best burgers, on a grill right in front of you. Best fast food burgers hands down.

Best fast food burgers hands down. They're down here in Florida too. Great Burger's. They really pile on the Fries!!!

Best fast food burgers hands down. Five Guys was basically started to be the In and Out of the east coast. I've had both and give the edge to In and Out, but both are good.
LeviF Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 They're down here in Florida too. Great Burger's. They really pile on the Fries!!! Do they just fill up bags with fries in Florida, too? Also, aside from the burgers, I love Five Guys i because they have bottles of malt vinegar for my fries in every establishment

Best fast food burgers hands down. They are in 35 States, I believe. Nutritional atomic bombs... http://www.fiveguys.net/files/files/NutritionalInfo_2010.pdf

I did notice last time I was at one they did away with the free peanuts.
Doc Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 They're down here in Florida too. Great Burger's. They really pile on the Fries!!! Yeah, we get just a regular order whenever we pickup because they give you enough extra to make it a large. Five Guys was basically started to be the In and Out of the east coast. I've had both and give the edge to In and Out, but both are good. I had an In-N-Out burger once and wasn't overly impressed. But it didn't have the "spread" on it. Do they grill or fry their burgers?
BuffaloBill Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Thanks for the heads up - they will have stiff competition in this market.

Thanks for the tip Doc, I'll have to try that out here in Manhattan. Good Burger just opened a location near me and it's pretty good, but not In 'N Out quality.
Dante Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 To each his own. I'm one of the few that don't rave about In and Out. Don't get me wrong I think it's a decent burger but not great. I don't like their fries either. BUT the price is right for them. Cheaper than most fast food burgers. Around our house there are a couple nice burgers to be had in restaurants when I feel like one. I put together a very nice burger as well if I don't say so myself.

I put together a very nice burger as well if I don't say so myself. Frankly, I didn't want to like them simply because I instinctively shy away from whatever people think is the most popular fill-in-the-blank. (I think I'm one of the only people who doesn't watch American Idol.) But there's something about these burgers that I just love. And I do like their fries, and am a firm believer that not liking someone's fries plays a role in not liking their burger (although liking someone's fries does not play a role in whether you will like their burger). Now, all that said, there is one caveat (for me) to In-n-Out burgers, and that is that you MUST eat it when you get it. Somehow even a five-minute ride home ruins it for me.
DrDawkinstein Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 In-and-Out is very good, I dont mean to take anything away from them, but Five Guys changed the way I judge fast food altogether. I was actually at a point where I didn't even like hamburgers. Once we got Five Guys in Atlanta though, I'm now an addict. Just went there for lunch yesterday. Great brugers, great ingredients, great fries (and LOTS of them) AND they give you free peanuts to munch on like I was back at the Ground Round!

DrDawkinstein Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 I don't get the peanut thing. what dont you get about it? why they do it? or why i like it? or what Ground Round is/was?

Chef Jim Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 what dont you get about it? why they do it? or why i like it? or what Ground Round is/was? Eating peanuts while you're waiting for burgers and fries.
GoodBye Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Eating peanuts while you're waiting for burgers and fries. Isn't it because they use Peanut oil to cook their fries?
