pBills Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Can you provide some details in regard to what the Obama administration has done to create this growth? Come on, well if all of our woes started under Obama, can't the actions he has set forth correct them? Seriously, since the stimulus' went out it has been a slow recovery but things ARE moving in the right direction.

pBills Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 As is evident by the Dow climbing over 11,000. The recession is over!!! Oh, wait. No one said it's over but things are moving in the right direction.
drnykterstein Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 You mean Like So? This article you linked to indicates that things are improving. It's the system working as it should," Van de Water says. Government is stimulating growth and helping people in need, he says. As the economy recovers, private wages will rebound, he says.
Adam Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I think we should add Bush and Obama to Mt. Rushmore- NOW
Chef Jim Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Come on, well if all of our woes started under Obama, can't the actions he has set forth correct them? Seriously, since the stimulus' went out it has been a slow recovery but things ARE moving in the right direction. Like this direction? “We’ll be working out the details in the weeks ahead,” Mr. Obama said, “but it will be a two-year, nationwide effort to jumpstart job creation in America and lay the foundation for a strong and growing economy. We’ll put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels, fuel-efficient cars and the alternative energy technologies that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years ahead.” This was a year and a half ago, he's got 6 more months. Where are those jobs? All I see around SF are a bunch of signs saying that this project was funded by the Economic Relief Program but there is never any work being done. What are they waiting for? Or are they still ramping up those shovel factories.

Government is stimulating growth and helping people in need, he says. As the economy recovers, private wages will rebound, he says. To be fair, how about adding some context to your quote The shift in income shows that the federal government's stimulus efforts have been effective, says Paul Van de Water, an economist at the liberal Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. "It's the system working as it should," Van de Water says. Government is stimulating growth and helping people in need, he says. As the economy recovers, private wages will rebound, he says.
Joe Miner Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 To be fair, how about adding some context to your quote Hey, only Fox News takes stuff out of context.

And before anyone attacks the source, Crudele is one helluva writer who does his homework.
DC Tom Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Come on, well if all of our woes started under Obama, can't the actions he has set forth correct them? Seriously, since the stimulus' went out it has been a slow recovery but things ARE moving in the right direction. I love the hypocrisy. The economic numbers were better in '03-'04, when the economy was "stagnating" under a Republican president.

And before anyone attacks the source, Crudele is one helluva writer who does his homework. I would love to hear the explanation from the Census bureau regarding these hirings, layoffs and rehirings. I hope someone follows up with this.
McBeane Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I just laugh with all of the Obama is ruining our country crap. Seriously, were your eyes open the years before he came into office? Was everything so perfect before? No. Fact of the matter is that he has done a good job so far in turning this country around. Things are turning around under his watch. You should give him credit, even though I know not one person here will. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/nabe-pegs...nk=MW_news_stmp http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405...s_whats_news_us Keep holding onto your "change" propaganda. I never once claimed that Bush was any better or worse, and that's not for this thread. I'll give credit where credit is due, and I'll let you know when I feel Obama deserves credit.
Dante Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I thought you meant these jobs. Or maybe these. Can't trust anything you're told anymore. And before anyone attacks the source, Crudele is one helluva writer who does his homework. Wow. Just wow. Nice find getting these. I particularly like this line "Of that amount, 186,000 came from a guess that small, newly-formed companies were hiring." They can just pull random numbers out of their ass. Straight up lie.

Oh Crudele is very good at poking out the government lies over stats. He was one of the first to analyze the birth/death model used by BLS and the goosed employment numbers that are only borne out by the U6 report. His requests under FOIA for telephone conversations had between Treasury and investment banks and minutes of the meeting of the President's Working Group on Financial Markets (aka the Plunge Protection team) are legendary. His columns appear in the Post every Tuesday and Thursday. Bookmark him, its always a great read. He will follow up.

....lybob Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 If anything Obama is a corporatist the same as Bush, a little more articulate a little less in your face but pretty much the same-Socialist? I wish! there has been a class war going for the last 40 years and if you are part of the middle-class or lower then you have been on the losing side and I don't expect that to change anytime soon.

Adam Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Hey, only Fox News takes stuff out of context. Fox News and MSNBC are oxymorons......and the people who watch are just morons! So... have you read any Noam? I almost spit out my lunch laughing, when I read this. I used to have a graduate assistant named Noam, who loved to talk politics. Funny thing is, all he liked to do was argue- and he could argue either side, depending on who he was talking to- and he knew each side's argument better than the people he was talking to- it was pretty funny!
