Jim in Anchorage Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Not so much the space alien type but the old grave robber/mummy/ghoul kind. Me, Dracula, the Francis Ford Coppola version.
BuffaloBill Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I still say you can't beat the original Halloween. Micheal Meyers was the dude of death.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Event horizon Extremely underrated horror movie, that flick is downright disturbing.
Chef Jim Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Not so much the space alien type but the old grave robber/mummy/ghoul kind.Me, Dracula, the Francis Ford Coppola version. I thought you said classic variety. For me if you're talking Classic Dracula it has to be the 1931 version with Bela Lugosi. If you can seek out the Spanish version done the same year with the same sets but with Spanish actors. It's actually better.
Spun Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 The Exorcist worked for me. Does The cook, the thief, his wife and her lover count as horror? It was certainly bizarre.
dickleyjones Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 My favourite: Susperia. Argento is the master. The absolute scariest (for me): the original Texas Chainsaw. The remake is terrible.
DrFishfinder Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Not so much the space alien type but the old grave robber/mummy/ghoul kind.Me, Dracula, the Francis Ford Coppola version. Still love the 1st Alien & 1st Predator.
CountDorkula Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 The Shining. That movie scared the hell out of me when i first saw it. Granted i was little, but still those 2 girls in the hallway still gets me everytime!
zevo Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Event horizon I dont even speak of that movie. It has been years since I have seen it but the haunting images have been burned into my brain.
murra Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 The violent story about how a criminal lesbian, a tough-guy hit-man with a heart of gold, and a retarded man came to be best friends through a hostage: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0299930/
CowgirlsFan Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I still say you can't beat the original Halloween. Micheal Meyers was the dude of death. Psyco ( the 1960 version )
R. Rich Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 "Classic" horor movie: The Wolf Man (the '41 Lon Chaney Jr/Claude Reins version, NOT the bastardized remake w/ Benecio Del Toro) "Modern" horror movie: Halloween (original '78 version)
R. Rich Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Psyco ( the 1960 version ) The thing that made both Psycho and the original Halloween movie so good is that they were good, scary movies that didn't have a ton of blood, unlike their unfortunate sequels and the many inferior copycats that followed 'em.
DarthICE Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Event horizon Yeah that movie is definately !@#$ed up
