T master Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Who was the person in the draft room at the time that said no to moving up to get Brees ?? Just wondering .
Peter Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Keep in mind that the source of this story is Greggo. Who knows whether it is true.
DrDawkinstein Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 old story, from greggo, so it might be a bit of an exaggeration. we went Nate Clements at 21, then Brees went in the 2nd. interesting.
mikecole1 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Who was the person in the draft room at the time that said no to moving up to get Brees ?? Just wondering . Had to be Ol Whitey....
cody Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Even the chargers did not think Brees would be the QB he is now. They drafted Rivers and let Brees go in Free Agency. 30 teams passed on Brees, either in the 2001 draft or in 2006 as a FA.
Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I thought the story was that they tried to move up but could not find a trade partner.
ChasBB Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Who was the person in the draft room at the time that said no to moving up to get Brees ?? Just wondering . I could be wrong, but my interpretation of events was that Buffalo just couldn't find any takers to trade up with or else they would have taken him. For whatever reason, they just didn't want him at 21.
C.Biscuit97 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 1) Gregg Williams was probably our worst coach of the last decade and it probably won't have matter anyways. 2) If Brees started slowly like he did in SD, we would have ran him out of town anyways.
DrFishfinder Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Who was the person in the draft room at the time that said no to moving up to get Brees ?? Just wondering . Sounds like Barbara Bush.
Malazan Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 It also says they tried to trade up, but found no takers. Let's skip over the facts though and 'Lynch' some mofos

300yrds Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 who passed on brady? he was a steal in the 6th. we defintely should have traded up for peyton too. old news, get over it. definitely would ahve run him out of town with his early performances.
RealityCheck Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Who was the person in the draft room at the time that said no to moving up to get Brees ?? Just wondering . Your question is not even accurate.
RayFinkle Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Brees would not be Brees if he would have been drafted by the bills.

apuszczalowski Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Gregg was the worst coach? I would take him over Mularky and Jauron
StamerforPrez Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Gregg was the worst coach? I would take him over Mularky and Jauron Yea as an offensive coordinator or defensive backs coach...... all 3 blew. I wish we somehow got him as a defensive coordinator when cottrell moved on

Mark Vader Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Newsflash to Greggo, you won the Super Bowl as the DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR!!! The Saints got Drew Brees on the team, but you were not the one calling the shots.
