major Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 If Russ Brandon was still running the show at One Bills Drive, I feel we would have traded for Vick and resigned Terrell Owens. In the draft, I still feel we would have taken Spiller. What do you think would have happened?
CarolinaBill Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 we probably wouldve traded away future picks to move back into the 1st rd to take clausen, traded Lynch for peanuts, and not shored up the NT spot ultimately, we wouldnt have filled as many holes as we did
Nanker Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 1st. Jim Claussen 2nd. Bruce Campbell 3rd. Mike Williams 4th. Dennis Pitta
JohnC Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 1st. Jim Claussen2nd. Bruce Campbell 3rd. Mike Williams 4th. Dennis Pitta Some regular season games would be sold to LA. Of course it would be for marketing puposes only. Expanding the marketing base is the key to keeping the Bills, at least that would be the organizational script. The owner would be at the podium announcing the transfer of these games with a shirt bottoned down to his navel and rambling about the wonderful weather and hot babes of LA and mocking the weather and poorly tanned girls of western NY.
Lurker Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 If Russ Brandon was still running the show at One Bills Drive Brandon never ran the football side of the operation.

Sisyphean Bills Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 We'd have traded our next 5 1st round picks for Big Ben along with 37 defensive backs.
HelloNewman Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I don't think he would have drafted anyone but he would have gotten them a hell of a pepsi deal
Gabe Northern Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Modrak ran the draft last year and this year, so no reason to believe there'd be any difference. Beyond Dick Jauron's insane personnel preference for college safeties at LBs and desire to stockpile DBs, the rest of this team is product of Tom Modrak's draft grades, as was this year's draft class. Modrak wanted 'roidhead Cushing, but he had Maybin ranked as his #1 pass rusher. Felt Orakpo took too many plays off. This year, he loved Spiller, which is eerily familiar to the time he felt we couldn't pass on McGahee at 23 overall. Two years ago, Modrak had McKelvin ranked highest on his board for CBs. He turned out to be the worst of the 3 CBs taken, although Talib is enough of a headcase that I can give him a pass for that one. Three years ago, Modrak gave Poz a mid-1st round grade. We had to give up a 3rd rounder to trade up to get him at 34. Of course, David Harris and LaMarr Woodley both turned out to be the better pros and both were available at our original pick.

Lets just cut him he sucks so bad. both would not have fit the cover 2 so fail unless you think Woodley could have played DE.
PromoTheRobot Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 What would be different is whoever would be head coach would be making most of the player personnel decisions, with Tom Modrak chipping in for the lower round picks and UDFA's. That's because Russ Brandon did not make those decisions before and he wouldn't start now. PTR

I can disagree with what you said either, but i will add we probably would have stuck with the same mentality of speedy players, and getting guys fans want/know and not who fits well, plays well. Though he did never actually run the show, was just part of the el stupid club (Dick and CO)

Thats hilarious
C.Biscuit97 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 You guys realize Brandon hired Nix right? Brandon takes way too much unnecessary heat. He is a good person to have around.
John from Riverside Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I think at the very least we would not have taken Carrington......who I think might be a simply awesome player when its all said and done.....a legit 270ish DE who can play the run and really athletic......
Meathead Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Brandon never ran the football side of the operation. thank you brandon is a mktg man, always has been. when it comes to actual football decisions he was nothing more than a figurehead
Meathead Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 You guys realize Brandon hired Nix right? Brandon takes way too much unnecessary heat. He is a good person to have around. definitely. if it wasnt for his programs to draw fans from rochester and canada its possible the team would already have been moved. a very talented and under-appreciated guy for what he does

In the draft, I still feel we would have taken Spiller. What do you think would have happened? I think we would have 8 home games in Toronto if Brandon were still in charge...
ntjacks79 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 definitely. if it wasnt for his programs to draw fans from rochester and canada its possible the team would already have been moved. a very talented and under-appreciated guy for what he does I am going to bring out Archie Bunker to Mike Stivic quotes if I hear you defend Brandon any more. Sorry, but my opinion of his marketing skill is low, say nothing of his football knowledge.
