DrDawkinstein Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 "Between the time he was drafted and cut, the Raiders paid JaMarcus Russell more than $38 million. We broke down his payout for key statistical categories during his tenure to translate his earnings. To find out how long it took JaMarcus Russell to earn your wages, enter your annual salary here..." http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/salary/ind...hleteId=5142920 especially funny since it is ESPN doing this. what's not funny is that I will need to work for 214 years, just to make his annual salary.
bartshan-83 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Great find! 700K per touchdown. Well done, JaMarcus.
KD in CA Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Wow...it's even worse looking at Ryan Howard. He makes more than me for each RBI.
DrDawkinstein Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Wow...it's even worse looking at Ryan Howard. He makes more than me for each RBI. at least Howard is kind of "earning" it. Russell just sat back and collected.
KD in CA Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 at least Howard is kind of "earning" it. Russell just sat back and collected. True. To drive that point home, ESPN should have used more appropriate measures besides 'games', 'touchdowns', etc. to calculate Russell's 'earnings'. For instance, they could have calcuated: --$ per pound gained since he was in college. --$ per wide open receiver that he missed --$ per page of the play book that he never read

lets_go_bills Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 That is hilarious. I too am shocked espn would run this. Seems more up PFT's alley. Hilarious nonetheless.
BuffaloBill Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 This is why I really believe there should be a rookie pay scale - period. get paid once you prove you can play.
