BLZFAN4LIFE Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 So BLZFAN will be putting the final touches on opening the inground pool for the season this weekend. I would like to put together a great list of songs (via mp3 or CD) to relax to, particularly on hot, tiki torch-lit southern nights. I'm 39 and pride myself on having an eclectic taste in music, so any genre, any time period will be acceptable, as long as you think it blends with great drinks and starlit nights. Fire away...

McBeane Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 New song, in todays "new country" that most hate, but Zach Brown Band a GREAT song for chilling with a beer called "Toes" Toes is an amazing song, it immediately puts me in a good mood no matter what. "Highway 20 Ride" also from the Zac Brown Band is a great song too.

BuffaloBill Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Songs are great but make sure there is a nice cup holder in your float. Then insert your favorite adult beverage with mucho ice. That's a way to chill.

Damien Marley - Welcome to Jamrock (most of that CD actually...same title) Sublime - Summertime Citizen Cope - Son's Gonna Rise Dr. Good Size - Pineapple Song (a little more upbeat, but one of my favorite "good mood" songs ever. It's from the opening montage scene in After the Sunset).

Cannibal Corpse - I will Kill You I find it to be very soothing and relaxing, especially after dealing with an "idiot" during the day. Not exactly poolside chill music. But it would be a good addition to my workout list. Beechwood SparksThe first Trojan dub box set Dr. John: Gris Gris The Glove: Blue Sunshine Galaxie 500 Talking Heads: Remain in Light the Besnard Lakes: Are The Dark Horse Wilderness Nick cave: Boatman's Call Flying Saucer Attack Palace/Bonnie "Prince" Billy/Superwolf/Will Oldham (all the same guy) Bill Callahan: Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle You have a really interesting taste in music, I liked "Wish" by Flying Saucer Attack. Astrojanitor Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Surfer Blood -- "Harmonix"Bear in Heaven -- ""Lovesick Teenagers" Jane Birkin -- "Periode Bleue" Massive Attack -- "Saturday Come Slow" Spirit -- "Mechanical World" Broken Bells -- "The Mall and Misery" Killer bands. Both very pleasant surprises for the last few months. And you can never go wrong with some Jane and Serge. Their Histoire de Melody Nelson finally got reissued. Probably too sleazy to be considered "chill," but still one of those perfect albums
Wooderson Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Wooderson, I'm going through your list now. It may not be the most well known music, but I enjoy it and most of it is pretty chill.
