Gene Frenkle Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Soon they will deal with their fear of death by inventing religion and an afterlife. Then they can move to the Heartland, build chimp churches and fight against those who claim they evolved from apes.
Chef Jim Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Soon they will deal with their fear of death by inventing religion and an afterlife. Then they can move to the Heartland, build chimp churches and fight against those who claim they evolved from apes. Either that or they'll take 50% of whatever the dead chimp left behind and distribute it to the other chimps.

John Adams Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 That's a neat story. It's amazing how much we're learning about all animals lately. Many of them use primitive tools. Lots of them don't do as much on instinct as we used to think--they are taught many things by their peers/parents. Animals have a lot more human characteristics than we often believe.
/dev/null Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Animals have a lot more human characteristics than we often believe. Or maybe Humans have a lot more Animal characteristics than we often believe.
Booster4324 Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Or maybe Humans have a lot more Animal characteristics than we often believe. I don't see why both can't apply.

We're dealing with an article that addresses such things as empathy, hugging, licking and brushing each others hair, carrying around dead bodies and finally letting other members of the clan play with the dead body. Say what you want about Wisconsin but this smells of Conner after a meeting with pBills and Pasta Joe.
