loyalbillsfan Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 As has been stated above, do NOT discount Hardy this year I would love for Hardy to have a break out year...I have a feeling though Stevie Johnson and Marcus Easley will be ahead of him on the depth chart
commish95 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I would love for Hardy to have a break out year...I have a feeling though Stevie Johnson and Marcus Easley will be ahead of him on the depth chart Would love to see your thinking behind why they will be ahead of Hardy.
BuffaloBill Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Why should Hardy not be discounted. Seriously. I would love for him to show up, but. Gailey says he prefers bigger receivers so we will have to see how this plays out. My guess is that Roscoe is a goner by the end of camp.
Celtic_soulja Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Gailey says he prefers bigger receivers so we will have to see how this plays out. My guess is that Roscoe is a goner by the end of camp. heheheh...nah, I believe he'll still be here if he has a good camp...
lets_go_bills Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Gailey says he prefers bigger receivers so we will have to see how this plays out. My guess is that Roscoe is a goner by the end of camp. He might stick because we need depth. But he's too small to be a full-timer on offense and with McKelvin's healthy return, Jackson's abilities and the addition of Spiller, he's not likely to be returning kicks neither. He may wind up camp fodder or just get burried in the depth chart.
bananathumb Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I am not counting on ANY of the players he mentioned, except Levitre, who seems like a solid, average guard.. Some won't even be on the team. The only young guy I am counting on is Spiller. He looks great...and he better be.
KD in CA Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 The 3rd year has traditionally been the break-out year for WRs. Hopefully Hardy can follow Moulds career blueprint as he was irrelevant his first two seasons as well. Yeah, but that generally assumes they've been on the field more than five times in the first two years. I'd certainly like to see him (or any of them) develop this year but think we really need to find a vet WR before the season starts.
Philo Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Gailey says he prefers bigger receivers so we will have to see how this plays out. My guess is that Roscoe is a goner by the end of camp. That's possible, but I think he may stick around just for veteran depth since so many of our WRs are young and inexperienced now. I do like Hardy and Johnson and hope that one of them if not both can break out this season. I also think Nelson has a chance to have a good year, he looked solid last year when he wasn't hurt. Made a few nice catches. As for the other players mentioned in the article, I think Levitre has a bright future ahead of him with the Bills, Carrington and Maybin should contribute this year and will only continue to get better and as for Brohm, I have no inclination whether or not he will be anything good, but it would be great if he broke out.
RealityCheck Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I remember the Bills Browns game on Monday night a few years ago. I saw Steve Johnson finding the soft spot in the zone the entire game and Trent could not find him. I saw that bulls*** in person and I wanted to throw up. The Browns were only rushing 3 for most of that game and Trent just kept checking it down. I mean no pressure either. He looked scared in the pocket and could not find receivers that were open all game. Back to my original point though, I've seen him get open a lot but would not get any looks. And if he did, it was only for a split second.
C.Biscuit97 Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Honestly, I would love to see Hardy step up. It is amazing how many people here are so quick to call Hardy a bust after a rookie season (where he caught more tds than Plexico and Moulds in thier rookie seasons). Supposedly, he tried to learn a lot from TO, has keep himself out of the news, and I believe even won a team award for his dedication and effort. A 6'6" receiver could be a huge asset to whoever is under center.
Geno Smith's Arm Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 It would be cool if they could package Lynch and Parrish in a trade for something of value. Parrish has good value as a return man at the very least, while Lynch could be a good 2nd punch for a team needing a good quality 2nd back. Is there a team that has those 2 needs out there? Seattle? 49ers?
Geno Smith's Arm Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I would love for Hardy to have a break out year...I have a feeling though Stevie Johnson and Marcus Easley will be ahead of him on the depth chart I have a feeling that it's not gonna matter who is playing wide receiver, because the quarterbacking is gonna be so bad.
Steely Dan Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 i really hope that hardy or johnson can break out this season...but ive been hoping for that for the past 2 years Yeah well, Jauron's gone. I don't think any of the Bills offensive players can be judged on Jauron's offense. Every one of those players is getting a fresh start in my book. I bet it feels like waking up from a nightmare for them. In fact I'll go so far as to say that about the whole team. A big problem was the former S&C coach. Not only do I feel he was responsible for the myriad of injuries that occurred but also for general conditioning. Each position requires a different training regimen in order to strengthen the muscle groups that are most used with that position. I don't think that was being addressed well enough. If the new trainers can do that a lot better then they will be making a huge upgrade for the team almost immediately. There are now two guys working with players instead of one and I think that alone will make a huge difference. Strengthening the most important muscles first, it seems to me, would also make injuries less common. So any player who had significant injuries I'm willing to give wide leverage to. Hopefully the new trainers will be able to strengthen Bells back better and rehab his knee and take care of Hardy, Woods (I don't blame that on Allaire), just about every other injury on the OL, TE, Leodis McKelvin and all of the other injured guys. Too many to count. ChasBB Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Hardy was gone for the season. Johnson could never get on the field as Fewell put his eggs on Owens, Evans and Reed.... I hope Hardy, Johnson and Nelson get to be on the field more often than not. You didn't happen to be George Bush's speech writer, did you?
