meazza
If this hearing was about whether Wall Street is populated by do gooders, then it would be a very brief one. A very weak case that hinges only on one thing - GS' name will be dragged through the mud until they settle. If they don't, SEC will look very foolish. Looks like the senator's are being dragged through the mud a little more than GS. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/sach...7ec6l8ASfk0Jn4J My favorite quotes: "Very distasteful treatment. It was like a partisan pep rally," said one angry hedge-fund trader. "Traders want to know: What did GS actually do wrong, or was this a gross abuse of power?" It was like "teachers scolding their students," groused another moneyman An equity analyst for a major mutual-fund company complained, "Carl Levin doesn't even understand what a market is." Wall Street is a convenient foil for giving your crew the rope to hang on. You're doing no different, except you're cutting the banks out. Well, ok. Given your and your crew's history is buying, rehabilitating and reselling 80-100 houses to less than credit worthy customers is a winning formula for sure. Given your and your crew's history is buying, rehabilitating and reselling 80-100 houses to less than credit worthy customers is a winning formula for sure. Yeah, and Wall St.........now THAT'S hell of a track record...and they are not giving me and my crew a dime...I would NEVER bring these ideas to THOSE kind of investors...you are correct...me and my boys aren't mortgage brokers and we aren't investment bankers....we have too much common sense and dignity to do them kinds of jobs... See, Wall St wouldn't care about the good getting done...would they?...they invest based on profit margins...mine will be as close to zero as I can pull off...not very attractive...they wouldn't want to invest in shady broken down hoods....I mean my city is full of people racially addicted to crime and poverty...credit rating shows that....those types of investors don't want anyyyyyyyyy piece of what I'm doing...and that is FINE by me...I got my backing...and it's coming from where it should...the people who live there and will benefit frrom the program personally... Yup, cutting the Banks out...black balling the slumlords...cutting out the excess garbage...while you think it's the actual people on the bottom that is the garbage, I think it's THOSE types of politicians and THOSE types of investors...Wall St. is a joke...and WHEN my program goes into affect, then I will meet with some other officials...and "take my show on the road" not personally but through examples set and myths debunked...well that's the plan anyway...maybe you, who has never worked side by side with or socialized with we ignorant folk, are right in judging us...maybe I am wrong...blinded by crazy things like morals and ideals....but I can always go back to scripture like you guys use to support your ridiculous right wing stances....The meek shall inherit the earth....that's kinda cool....or no weapon formed against me shall prosper, any voice that raises against me thou shalt condemn, this is the heritage of the service of the Lord....I like that one :0)...sounds all soldier like...my plan will work for no other reason that I have allllllll the room necessary to screw up...since I am not in it to make lots of money...allllllll the monthly payments collected...whether some late or some not at all....will more than cover my overhead...so...really...if I break even...which considering I am paying cash upfront for property it is nearly impossible for me not to at least break even...I'll be happy getting my people in and the slumlords out.....oooooh dawgie.... bills_fan
Then there's this... http://gawker.com/5527539/this-anonymous-e...-the-revolution What say you? I say its fake. But this has been going around today. We are Wall Street. It's our job to make money. Whether it's a commodity, stock, bond, or some hypothetical piece of fake paper, it doesn't matter. We would trade baseball cards if it were profitable. I didn't hear America complaining when the market was roaring to 14,000 and everyone's 401k doubled every 3 years. Just like gambling, its not a problem until you lose. I've never heard of anyone going to Gamblers Anonymous because they won too much in Vegas. Well now the market crapped out, & even though it has come back somewhat, the government and the average Joes are still looking for a scapegoat. God knows there has to be one for everything. Well, here we are. Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you're only going to hurt yourselves. What's going to happen when we can't find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We're going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later. We're used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We don't take an hour or more for a lunch break. We don't demand a union. We don't retire at 50 with a pension. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we'll eat that. For years teachers and other unionized labor have had us fooled. We were too busy working to notice. Do you really think that we are incapable of teaching 3rd graders and doing landscaping? We're going to take your cushy jobs with tenure and 4 months off a year and whine just like you that we are so-o-o-o underpaid for building the youth of America. Say goodbye to your overtime and double time and a half. I'll be hitting grounders to the high school baseball team for $5k extra a summer, thank you very much. So now that we're going to be making $85k a year without upside, Joe Mainstreet is going to have his revenge, right? Wrong! Guess what: we're going to stop buying the new 80k car, we aren't going to leave the 35 percent tip at our business dinners anymore. No more free rides on our backs. We're going to landscape our own back yards, wash our cars with a garden hose in our driveways. Our money was your money. You spent it. When our money dries up, so does yours. The difference is, you lived off of it, we rejoiced in it. The Obama administration and the Democratic National Committee might get their way and knock us off the top of the pyramid, but it's really going to hurt like hell for them when our fat a**es land directly on the middle class of America and knock them to the bottom. We aren't dinosaurs. We are smarter and more vicious than that, and we are going to survive. The question is, now that Obama & his administration are making Joe Mainstreet our food supply…will he? and will they?

Regulation will just send them back to thier labs to create more ridiculous loopholes to steal money from the less savvy...and THAT is all Wall St. is nowadays...it's corrupt and dirty...and the more dirty you are, the bigger the rewards....that is a huge friggen sign that the financial system is designed poorly and why things will continue to break down in our society...but that's just one ignorant idealistic opinion... Well not just one...there are a few...like way out there no thinkers like Aristotle, Socrates, and Gandhi, oh and the wacko carpenter...riiiiight...those guys had no kind of wisdom...they sure as hell have nothing on guys like Magox or you KD...your divine wisdom poureth over us like a waterfall of power and enlightenment...with sparkling words of prudence like Goldman Sachs have built this country brick by brick...so benevolent as they are...so compassionate and caring for our dear nation...definitely need to take your words over Tolstoy or Franklin...lol
