Â Yeah, and that would have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that reed was often on the field matched up against a nickel back and never really ran a pass pattern over 4 yards. This does not necessarily indicate dropped passes, but is a reflection of what percentage of the passes thrown to him were completed. Â So what you are saying is that Evans does not match up as well against whoever is covering him. Â The thing about Evans is that he is not a bad receiver. He is pretty good. Â At this point there is no clear #2 WR from what I see, and as for the slot I would think CJ Spiller will be in that position more then anyone else. boyst Posted April 27, 2010 Share Posted April 27, 2010 Maybe 2009 was just a frustrating year. After being in Buffalo for all of these rebuilds maybe he was just down in the dumps. T.O. and all the past issues he just said F it this year is a joke. Didn't most of us as fans say that? He's only human and unfortunately that's part of life. Oh wait, maybe that's why we brought in Spiller. Â Even if Spiller doesn't score a ton, he will dictate defensive attention (maybe double teams), and hopefully away from Evans. LGB Posted April 27, 2010 Share Posted April 27, 2010 there was much talk about how all Lee Evans needed was another WR to take the heat off him...so they signed TO for 6 or 7 million...how did that work out?...like we even had an passing offense last year after finishing 30th in the league...and is why most fans wanted the OL addressed this year - so shell-shocked capt. check-down could make more than a 5 yard completion. I can't believe you guys are bitching about Evans. bills fans are so fickle. In one breath some of you complain we don't keep our best players. Then, we re-sign one of our best players and now he is not good enough. Who cares if he's making a few more million than you think he's worth. You dont sign the check what the hell do you care. When has he taken a big time hit and still caught the ball? He earns 9 million per year, which is 8 million to much for what he gives the Bills Actually, since you asked, in the snow game against Cleveland in 07, with around a minute to go made a great catch at the Cleveland 25 on third or fourth and long and was really hammered on the play. He ended up requiring surgery for the hit. It got the Bills a first down, though, and led to them getting inside the 10.
