Coach55 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Below is my initial stab at our starting line-up. Without knowing Gailey's offensive scheme, I went with the assumption that he is going to have a "flex" back on the field that will often line up in the slot or as a 2nd back. Offensively - I am assuming that Wood will be healthy and Johnson beats out Hardy. Defensively, with the acquisition of Troup, I have moved Williams to DE. I assume Schobel is back for 1 more year (if not, slot Moats as the other OLB - I know they are projecting him at ILB). QB - Edwards RB - Jackson Flex - Spiller WR - Evans WR - Johnson TE - Nelson LT- Bell LG - Levitre C - Hangartner RG - Wood RT - Green DE - Stroud NT - Troup DE - Williams OLB - Schobel ILB - Posluszny ILB - Davis OLB - Maybin CB - McGee CB - Florence FS - Byrd SS - Whitner
Max997 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 i think Carrington starts at one of the DE spots from day one and Edwards starts at the other

BUFFALOTONE Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I dont think Wood makes it back this year, just my gut feeling. But I think KW will be the NT on passing downs. Troupe will play 1st and 2nd. Expect Carrington to be a starter I have a feeling they are looking to replace Maybin as well.

At best, he is brought in on 3rd down only.
BUFFALOTONE Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I just don't see maybin starting at OLB. At best, he is brought in on 3rd down only. He reminds me of Jason Taylor, sans the talent.

Expect Carrington to be a starter I have a feeling they are looking to replace Maybin as well. He is expected back by June. He has been working out and is walking without a limp or anything. On one of the videos on bb.com, they showed him returning 80 lb dumbbells to the rack. If he had any problems with his leg still, I'm sure he wouldn't carry an extra 160 lbs and risk anything.

I can assure you however, that Dwan Edwards is starting. In fact, he may be the only guy on our roster that I would guarantee is starting on the defensive line. Mitchell, McKelvin and Wilson are also going to start. Actually with respect to your defense, to quote Kramer when asked if Jerry's apartment was in fact Vandalay industries, "no, no, you're way, way off."

LynchMob23 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 No changes of note save McGee - he's hurt pretty bad and may not start the season. He's recovering pretty slow from the shoulder issue last they mentioned.
DanInSouthBuffalo Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Here's another thought for special-teams: Last year-Kick returns Fred Jackson 41 times Roscoe Parrish 11 times Leodis McKelvin-5 times Last yearr-Punt returns Roscoe Parrish 24 times Fred Jackson 5 times This year-Kick returns #1 C.J. Spiller #2 Fred Jackson This year-Punt returns #1 Roscoe Parrish #2 Ellis Lankster I think Roscoe gets a chance to redeem himself. Anyone else we could add to this mix?
13player Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 anyone that thinks Maybin see's the field before Schobel and Mitchell is NUTS, Johnson will be the number 2 receiver and Trent gets a short leash.
Max997 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Do you think they would look to trade Stroud and Williams prior to day one? Williams isnt going anywhere and will probably start at NT and split time with Troup I think Stroud is done as a Bill

I would say Leodis and Spiller back at KR together, with Jackson and Mcgee as backups. at PR, Roscoe and Ellis w/Spiller in bigger situations.
lets_go_bills Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Defense: DL: Stroud and Carrington rotating - Troup on 1st and 2nd down, Williams on 3rd and long 2nds - Edwards LB: Schobel if he's back, otherwise Mitchell rotating with Moats - Posluszny - Davis - Maybin DB: McKelvin - Byrd - Whitner and Wilson rotating unless Whitner finally emerges - McGee
bananathumb Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Is punt returning enough to keep Roscoe on an NFL team, even in Buffalo? Is a cap hit thing?
