DeeRay Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Plain and simple... Bills must "run the table". They can control that. They can't control the outcomes of other games...so they need to worry about their opponents, play their best, and hope it's enough. Now... every year the playoff run around this time, and it seems every year, a team that is close, and even sometimes a team that's a frontrunner, loses a player to injury that changes the whole complexion of things. Example: last year Philly loses Westbrook.... essentially, their season is over. Will the injury jinx strike again and who will it affect, and how? SanDiego is cruising. They can live if LT goes down, but if Brees goes down... game over. Pittsburgh is riding Rothlisburger... They can't live without him... but the same could be said if the BUS blows a tire because Deuce won't hold up... Bills? If either Sam Adams or McGahee goes down... call in the dogs. Jets? If Martin or Robertson goes down it's over. Pats? If Brady goes down, the Titanic has sunk. If Bruschi goes down, they have big problems... but they've overcome those sort of things before on D and still have been able to create enough smoke and correctly place the mirrors to withstand that. Denver? If the snake goes down, so do the Broncos. They might be able to steal a game... but their demise is close at hand. Indy? Peyton doesn't get hurt... but if he does? end of story. If Marvin Harrison were to get hurt, it would automatically factor out having to double this monster... and Peyton wouldn't have Stokely and Wayne running free. Couldn't/can't take out the Pats with Harrison and wouldn't make it to that game without him. So, who do you think the players are that their team could ill afford to lose on the cusp of the playoffs?
