bills_red Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 192. Danny Batten, DE/OLB, South Dakota State The Bills double dip at pass-rusher - a smart move if Aaron Schobel retires. Danny Batten fits this range as a late-round prospect. (Pick Grade: B)
SDS Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 http://www.nfldraftbible.com/Small-School-...ard_update.html Nfl Draft Bible has Danny rated as the 10th best small school prospect.
tjprime Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players...TrackerTable192 "Minnesota found out that Batten wasn't just teeing off against lesser competition, as the Gophers almost lost to SDSU thanks to his 12 tackles, 1.5 for loss and sack" Very Interesting
Pete Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 You can never have too many pass rushers! I like it. Sure beats the hell out of drafting CBs! Competition is going to be intense for defensive spots
Doc Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Attached is an excerpt about Danny's Pro chances from the Sporting News. "South Dakota State DE Danny Batten is a small-school prospect who is causing a lot of chatter. Batten (6'2 3/4, 24) has been impressive with his ability to impact games rushing the passer, chasing down running plays and making plays when dropping into coverage. Batten plays with great passion and could be an ideal development prospect with the potential to become a starter. Batten could become a mid-round pick if he performs well at the postseason all-star games against improved competition. He weighs 24 pounds?!
LGB Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I watch a lot of South Dakota State football and you guys don't know WTF you're talking about. This guy is a stud. another sleeper - right?
John Cocktosten Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Man, he looked good against North dakota tech and Wyoming central state!
muggins Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Come on, you act like Pike is a sure thing to come in a be better than Edwards, Brohm or Fitzpatrick. The chance of having a better QB to lead our team is a lot more important than drafting a kid who might play special teams for a few years then make someone's practice squad.
dgrid Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 so back to back Moats/Batten, good chance at least 1 of them steps up!

Pete Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Man, he looked good against North dakota tech and Wyoming central state! Just like DeMarcus Ware looked good against Middle Tennessee State
SDS Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 another sleeper - right? No - an instant starter in the 6th round.
