Doc Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 All I can say is, I hope they have plans for NT and LT in the later rounds.
Virgil Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I don't care if he is the next chris johnson, we have rb's. We have no one to block for him. This is a joke
papazoid Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 C J SPILLER........yeaaaaaaa baby......say hello to the NFL OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR !!
LGB Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 The Bills took the best player on the their board. This guy is a track star with a lot of muscle... Run and stop the Run - right? Now we need a DT...
Fezmid Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Nothing against Spiller, who I think is a VERY good running back, but I hope he can create his own holes. Also: so long, Marshawn. NFL Network said, "Spiller doesn't need everyone to be blocked to get big gains." My response: "Good, because we can't block anyone..."
Malazan Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Drafting for need has worked *really* well for the Bills.
irishman Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I like this pick. He was by far the best player on the board so I'm happy we didn't reach like we usually do and got a great player!!
Meark Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I can't believe I'm saying this.. but I love the pick.
Orton's Arm Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Three RBs in the 1st Round in the last 7 years. Two RBs have been Pro Bowlers. STOP TURNING OVER THE ROSTER!!!!! You hit the nail on the head. Over-investing in the RB position is a terrible move from a strategic perspective; even if Spiller turns out to be a very good player. How much of an upgrade over Lynch/Jackson does he really provide? And is that upgrade worth neglecting our QB position (Clausen), or some other area of real need?
May Day 10 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 what was wrong with the draft thread to discuss the rest of the draft?
KD in CA Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I'm worried about OL and DL but what the hell, he's a great player. Thurman Thomas may have been the most impactful player in Bills history so if they got a guy who can recreate some of that, I'm on board. Go C.J.
HurlyBurly51 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Great pick. They had their choice of LT, QB, DT, OLB, and they took the best player available. That's the way you get better. Expect Lynch to be moved, and we'll fill needs where the talent meets draft position. Don't worry, about 9 more picks (after trade) to be added. Nix will find PLAYERS
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 C J SPILLER........yeaaaaaaa baby......say hello to the NFL OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR !! You must be mentally retarded. How's he going to be the O rookie of the year when he gets tackled in the backfield?
dtgolder Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I can't believe they had a shot at Clausen and didn't take it...amazing.
The Senator Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 the big questions now - 1) will the bills find a partner to get back into the first round, and 2) will lynch be a buffalo bill tomorrow? (my guesses are yes to #1 and no to #2) wonder how far bulaga drops?
