mrags Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 "Pick me! I'm the Anti-Lynch!" http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ble-in-the-nfl/ I read this post and link thinking Spiller actually said what you quoted. False adversiding at its best. It all depends on how the question was asked. It may not mean anything. Dont look into it, hes only saying he wont be a problem. I doubt any player really wants to come here unless they otherwise wouldnt have been drafted, or they are named Tim Tebow and would make gobs of money by being picked in the top 10 as opposed to the 2nd round. Just saying.
Dr. Trooth Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 WTF??? CODED MESSAGE? TO THE BILLS? No... nothing coded here. It's very clear, and he's sending that message to 32 NFL teams.

BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Regardless of whether he ends up a Buffalo Bill or not, having Warrick Dunn as a mentor is probably the smartest thing any player could do. Dunn was/is a class act.
Hazed and Amuzed Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Sounds like a leader in the making, I like it. Maybe that's why he's being figured into the equation, because truth be told- we really shouldn't be considering a RB at 9 unless he's bringing something else to the table like leadership.
lets_go_bills Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 That's good to hear. He's holding himself to a high standard and that's an admirable quality. He's showing strong character to go along with his excellent talent and ability.
BUFFALOTONE Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I got a feeling KC grabs him. Great compliment to Bowe and Cassel.
Lockport Bills Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I got a feeling KC grabs him. Great compliment to Bowe and Cassel. Jamaal Charles looked great last year though...
Chandler#81 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 'Spilla' will be a Thrilla, when we get the gorilla in the Villa!' <copied from another thread> I'd love the selection! An every down threat, to go the distance every play!
mob16151 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I heard Tom Hanks will play CJ Spiller in the upcoming film "The Spiller Code".
KRT88 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 WTF??? CODED MESSAGE? TO THE BILLS? why would anyone in the right mind, who has paid attention to the NFL over the past 10 year send a coded message to the arm pit franchise of the NFL. Seriously, do you think players REALLY want to get drafted by Buffalo? That's are biggest problem problem right now is that everyone views us as Oakland east with a crappy economy and a decaying society. This problem can get solved if we win over the next few years but right now, being a Bills fan is depressing because nothing being done points to anything but another long horrible season.
Thoner7 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 "Pick me! I'm the Anti-Lynch!" http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ble-in-the-nfl/ Why does anyone want to add another gimmick player/return man to a team built around gimmick players and return men. Spiller is not some every down stud RB. He is a Reggie Bush like 10-15 touches a game guy. Drafting him will only hurt this team.
purple haze Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Sounds like a leader in the making, I like it. Maybe that's why he's being figured into the equation, because truth be told- we really shouldn't be considering a RB at 9 unless he's bringing something else to the table like leadership. How about bringing touchdowns? An ability to score from the slot receiver position or out of the backfield; in the return game or running the football; and doing it from anywhere on the field at any time. Those things are reasons we could take him at 9 if he's there. He's a dynamic playmaker. Who do the Bills have that can do all of those things? Better a playmaker than a "solid" LT who is considered the 3rd or 4th best LT. Can get a solid LT later in the draft.

Spiller is not some every down stud RB. He is a Reggie Bush like 10-15 touches a game guy. Drafting him will only hurt this team. Spiller will touch the ball a lot more than that. Why do you think he's a gimmick player? Did you watch him run the ball? Did you watch him catch the ball out of the backfield and from the slot receiver position? Why do you think Reggie Bush and not Chris Johnson who just rushed for 2000 yards? He's no smaller than CJ with the same speed level.

No that's how YOU view things. I bet you not one of these draftees knows a thing about Buffalo or any other city because they've never been there. Have some pride and stop whining.
KOKBILLS Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Sounds like a leader in the making, I like it. Maybe that's why he's being figured into the equation, because truth be told- we really shouldn't be considering a RB at 9 unless he's bringing something else to the table like leadership. Leadership is all fine and good...But he's a Rookie...He's not going to be a Leader anywhere for a bit... Unless Spiller is bringing the ability to Pass the Ball, Block for the Run and Pass, Sack the QB, or stuff the Run it's no where near enough for The Buffalo Bills to Draft him... Spiller...
Kingfish Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I think the Bills curse of drafting headcase RBs has finally been broken.
