FluffHead Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 TE Tony Scheffler to the Lions, LB Ernie Sims to the Eagles, Undisclosed pick to Denver per Adam Schefter
cjf4 Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 TE Tony Scheffler to the Lions, LB Ernie Sims to the Eagles, Undisclosed pick to Denver per Adam Schefter I really don't understand the Broncos's new philosophy of letting all their talent go. At least we scooped up Andra Davis via it.
stinky finger Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 TE Tony Scheffler to the Lions, LB Ernie Sims to the Eagles, Undisclosed pick to Denver per Adam Schefter If true, the Lions just added a good pass catching TE. Now if he can stay on the field.....
BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Well at least Ernie Sims freed his career from Detroit's quagmire. Interesting trade all around...doesn't Detroit already have Brandon Pettigrew?
Lori Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 As I just noted on Twitter: The Lions now have NONE of their draft picks from 2002-06 left on their roster. Nice work, Millen. ADD: BG, Pettigrew is rehabbing an ACL.
bizell Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Ernie Sims is a good player for the Eagles. i think he's going to do pretty good in philly. their system seems to fit his style more than detroit's.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 TE Tony Scheffler to the Lions, LB Ernie Sims to the Eagles, Undisclosed pick to Denver per Adam Schefter Interesting that Sims was the next pick in the 1st round of 2006 after Lil Donte.
FluffHead Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 update: denver gets a 5th rounder from philly (137) and the lions get sheffler plus denver's 7th rounder
stinky finger Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Interesting that Sims was the next pick in the 1st round of 2006 after Lil Donte. It's not a good sign when your team is selecting close to the Lions.
dgrid Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I really don't understand the Broncos's new philosophy of letting all their talent go. At least we scooped up Andra Davis via it. McDaniels wants players that fit his mold, whatever exactly that is. Drives off/trades players that do not.
Estro Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I think the Eagles are the team that benefits the most from this trade. For a 5th round pick, they get a quality starting weakside LB, who is still relatively young (25). Good move.
Magox Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 As I just noted on Twitter: The Lions now have NONE of their draft picks from 2002-06 left on their roster. Nice work, Millen. That's truly amazing
BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I think the Eagles are the team that benefits the most from this trade. For a 5th round pick, they get a quality starting weakside LB, who is still relatively young (25). Good move. Agreed, very good move on their part. I actually respect what Denver is doing...get the guys off your team that dont fit the system (or who are malcontents) and move on.
Billy in 4C Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Sounds like we could've had Sheffler for a 5th and 7th. Buddy, are you awake? Somebody check his pulse.
BillsVet Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 That's truly amazing What's really amazing is that NBC sees fit to plop his rear end down in front of our sets every Sunday night. As far as I'm concerned, his credibility has his negative numbers.
lets_go_bills Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 The trade is weird to me. Eagles are the clear winners here, parting with only a 5th to grab a legit starting OLB. The Lions acquire a good TE but only one year after drafting the draft's top TE last year. The Broncos get a measley 5th for a starting TE. McDaniels may be showing he's "large and in charge" there in Denver but in only one year he's managed to trade away the team's top three offensive players. Dumb move by the Broncos, great move by the Eagles and Lions.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Sounds like we could've had Sheffler for a 5th and 7th. Buddy, are you awake? Somebody check his pulse. They probably like Shawn Nelson's upside enough to not have considered Scheffler. Like Nelson, his strength is not in-line blocking. Lions have Pettigrew to handle blocking at the POA.
dpberr Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Sounds like we could've had Sheffler for a 5th and 7th. Buddy, are you awake? Somebody check his pulse. Why? We already have a young, pass catching TE in Shawn Nelson. The reason he was drafted.
BillyBaroo Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I really don't understand the Broncos's new philosophy of letting all their talent go. At least we scooped up Andra Davis via it. I thought Davis was damaged goods and that we were taking a chance on him?
