Fezmid
I went to the Twins/Royals game yesterday and took a bunch of pictures. I thought that some baseball fans might appreciate it. The stadium looks fantastic and it was a great time, despite the loss... http://www.flickr.com/photos/43777639@N06/...57623888883772/ If I had to pick a favorite, this would be it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43777639@N06/...57623888883772/

Jim in Anchorage
This is completely open, no retractable roof right? A retractable roof would be worthless in Minnesota. It would just freeze in one position
WVUFootball29
Great Shots Fez, looks like a gorgeous ball park. I truly believe we are in the platinum age of building athletic facilities. Finally getting away from atrocities such as the Kingdome, Three Rivers, and such.
BillsFanNC
Great shots. I'm going to be up there for the National Homebrewers Conference in June. There is a pre-conference brewery tour and Twins game event that I have tickets for.

I'm jealous -- I haven't even had an official tour of the stadium amd I live here! If you like sports photos, here's some from a box LAX game I went to in February. http://www.flickr.com/photos/43777639@N06/...57623872920014/ I have a feeling this one is going to get the most comments http://www.flickr.com/photos/43777639@N06/...57623872920014/

WVUFootball29
You mean buildings built with price in mind? No, I'm talking about stadiums that had horrid sight lines, lack of amenities, and just plan lacked character. The problem with multi-purpose stadiums is that for one sport you'll not be centered on the action. Take the Kingdome for example, the stadium's sightlines were centered on the 50 yard like for football, which is good, but when you played baseball in there, the action would be off to the left or right of center depending on where you sat. You ended up twisting one way or the other to get a good comfortable view.

But the Metrodome was built for $68 mil, which is about $162 mil in today's dollars. Meanwhile, Target Field cost $545 mil and the Vikings want a new stadium for $870 mil. Glad people got the 3 bathrooms and 3 garages on the acre plot... Now they can't make the mortgage because they gotta take in the games at the new fancier stadiums. Nice to see we are learning things!

At multi-purpose stadiums... There was a lot of bang for the buck. You would think in our enviro/PC culture we would be embracing economizing...
