Fezmid Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Why does every thread about soccer have to be ruined by people coming in and saying how much soccer sucks? Oh wait, it's because soccer !@#$ing sucks.
Chef Jim Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Well, having played soccer for ten years, I promise you that was a VERY difficult goal....just the control he exerted over the ball to even prep for the shot was difficult, let alone to hit a volley that found the net. Glad you have an open mind, though, cause even non-soccer fans can find enjoyment in the WC matches Enjoyment? No I suffer from insomnia so I actually get some sleep every four years.
Nervous Guy Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I'd rather watch baseball and I think baseball is boring as hell.
ieatcrayonz Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 It took them 74 mins to score the first goal of the game?? In fairness, 72 of those minutes were spent on the whining and banter required to set up the free kick.

Doesn't ruin the threads at all, bro....of course, it's always a plus when the haters actually bring some wit and creativity to go with their hating, but what can ya do?

GoodBye Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Yeah, that's what I thought... He kicked the ball to the left and it went in the net. Yay.... You want some wows, check out these NHL goals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB_LC10N3xU But, it barely went right over the goalie's hands! Amazing!
Steely Dan Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Ummm... WC 2010 is in June. Sorry, I was sure he meant SB.
meazza Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Yeah, that's what I thought... He kicked the ball to the left and it went in the net. Yay.... You want some wows, check out these NHL goals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB_LC10N3xU For those of us who enjoy it, it was a nice goal even though I hate the black and blue. Believe it or not, there are people who don't enjoy hockey either. To each his own.

meazza Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I wasn't referring to myself. I could watch any sport, except for maybe curling and cricket.
Fezmid Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Believe it or not, there are people who don't enjoy hockey either. To each his own. Can't you be deported from Canada for saying that....?
Chef Jim Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I wasn't referring to myself. I could watch any sport, except for maybe curling and cricket. I know you weren't. I just didn't know those people existed.
meazza Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I know you weren't. I just didn't know those people existed. I actually tried to sell hockey on a soccer board a long time ago. They didn't get it. Screw em. Their loss
meazza Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Can't you be deported from Canada for saying that....? They'll never find me
Cugalabanza Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 In fairness, 72 of those minutes were spent on the whining and banter required to set up the free kick. Bravo! One of the soccer haters finally made me laugh.
Cugalabanza Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 ...and here's a little something to get the other 8 soccer fans fired up for the WC!!! Word! My prediction: USA gets out of the group and the number of soccer fans in here hits double digits.
ajzepp Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 Word! My prediction: USA gets out of the group and the number of soccer fans in here hits double digits. They damn well BETTER come out of the group this time...especially with the time a lot of these guys have spent playing abroad over the past few years, I expect to see a solid effort from our boys.
