IDBillzFan
Just thinking it's great to hold up signs protesting Socialism yet go home and collect from them. At least we agree that you have no idea what's going on. So that's a start.
pBills
No. DC isn't a state. Taxation without TRUE Representation. Come on Tea Party should be all over that.
pBills
At least we agree that you have no idea what's going on. So that's a start. Are they not in a sense socialist programs? If not, please enlighten me.
VABills
Yes. You being from VA should know that they do not have a voting rep in Senate and in the House they are allowed one delegate who is not allowed on the floor. DC should have FULL representation. Don't you agree? No. Do you understand the rules on which DC was built? Stop changing the rules.
Magox
I do like how the majority of their members are probably receiving social security or medicare Care to clarify how you came to this conclusion? Remember. 1) "Majority" means more than 50%. 2) "Receiving" implies currently. 3) SS and Medicare begins at age 65 or older GO!

pBills
No. Do you understand the rules on which DC was built? Stop changing the rules. If they are paying taxes shouldn't they have Full Representation? Just asking.
pBills
Yes they are, that's why many of us are against them. Wondering why the Tea Party Movement isn't holding up signs about being against them. Again, just curious.

VABills
If they are paying taxes shouldn't they have Full Representation? Just asking. What about Guam, Puerto Rico, etc... Why just DC? Also, the way DC was created, way back in the 18th century, the agreement was they would lose those rights of the states as they were not a state, couldn't be a state and therefore don't be there if you want those rights. DC Tom
Taxation without TRUE Representation. Come on Tea Party should be all over that. They probably should be all over that. But DC is not a state. States get representation. Districts, territories, people...not states, don't get representation. Who are you, Mark Plotkin?
pBills
Answer the question. If many people are against socialist programs why aren't they against those two?

I know all of that. Just curious on why the Tea Party wouldn't want to support people who pay taxes and don't receive Full Representation. Shouldn't they be there hand in hand with Eleanor Holmes Norton fighting for this? Aren't they about taxes being fair?
Chef Jim
Answer the question. If many people are against socialist programs why aren't they against those two? Because there's not much we can do about them. They're here to stay. Our goal is to prevent the government from creating more socialist programs. It's really our ideology. Shouldn't they be there hand in hand with Eleanor Holmes Norton fighting for this? Aren't they about taxes being fair? Just curious why you completely ignored the point I made where, just because someone is receiving a subsidy, doesn't mean they think they SHOULD be receiving the subsidy.
