I wouldn't be shocked if the 'Hawks lose either game 1 or 2 at home... But I am warning you... DO NOT FALL FOR THE ROPE-A-DOPE!

I hope your Cryers are not reading this! I want them to fall for it...

Big difference between the Habs, Bruins, Devils!

One thing that does work fpr a little bit is to bring the trap (note the Predators series). Do not get all loosey goosey... You will loose!

Bobby Clarke learned his lesson from before, when we'd go up against teams that would skate around us in circles, and all our big oafs were helpless against teams like Detroit back when we faced them in the Finals. We've got a more balanced team now that matches up better against a wider variety of opponents, and on top of that we're HUNGRY!!! No more curse of Willie Penn...PHILLY IN DA HOUSE!!!!!!

What is a Philadelphia Flyer anyway? Is it a train?

I think the BlackHawks were named after the original owner's military (I think Army) unit?? They named themselves after the Native American Chief of the Sauk (Great lakes to IL-WI)... The name of the team went from two words (Chief's spelling) to one (the military unit).

What gets me is the whole Original 6 BS. The Blackhawks were an expansion team.

Not the matchup I was pulling for, but it should be a good series. I am still not sure that I believe in the Flyers... I do like Dan Briere though... don't know who to root for...instinct says Blackhawks (how can a Sabres fan pull for the Flyers?), but part of me wouldn't half mind the Flyers winning it... if, for nothing else, to show the Sabres that it is possible to make moves, and it is possible to build a winner pretty quickly....remember how awful the Flyers were just 3-4 years ago?

THis is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. The Bills beat the Jets last year. The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Philadelphia Phillies this year. The Boston Celtics lost to the Indiana Pacers this year.

So, tell me again how this differs? It's funny that the people that have no clue about hockey are the one's that spout off stuff that rarely happens in the playoffs. Mostly because, you really only watch it when it pertains to you.....which is no biggie...........just don't act like you know the game more than that.

What? When was the last time a 5 seed had homefield in a conference championship game? Or a 4 or 5 in the NBA, much less a 7?

Though this has nothing to do with he playoffs, I would like to thank the Maple Leafs for giving Boston the number 2 overall pick.

  • Division Winners last year
  • Deep playoff run this year
  • Underacheived this year by many standards
  • 2 very good goaltenders
  • now they get the number 2 pick?

Boston has some good things coming their way, i expect them 2 be back on top next year, and for awhile after.

When they got obliterated by the Red Wings in the finals a while back, I think it helped Clarke finally understand that he needed more speed and players with SKILLS instead of huge bruisers who could overpower their opponents. Even back when I was living in Philly, Clarke was loved for being willing to make moves to improve the team, but criticized for not understanding the current state of the game. Aside from that, Lindros was always overrated, IMO, and Clarke was in love with the guy. A lot of people felt it held the franchise back, cause Lindros very rarely would show up when it mattered. LeClair was always the MVP of those teams from the late 90s....anyway, I digress. I can't wait til Saturday!!!

Yeah, I was a bit preoccupied during that season lol

Just wait till you get a load of the 'Hawks finesse/skating game and then hitting... If they bring it properly (you know anything can hapopen)... Your "A" team Philly won't even be able to hold Chicago's jock.

On paper this... The talent team is Chicago and this looks to be a laugher. But, it is hockey and anything can happen!

Good luck!

This is for Lv:

Either way the last 5 years... Right now it is 2-2, with talent (on paper) teams winning 2 SC's. If the 'Hawks win, "talent" (again on paper by far over the Flyers) will have the edge 3-2... Not so overwhelming aye? If Philly wins...

Here is hoping you are right (the numbers are a lot closer than you want to think) about "talent" Lv! :P

I don't watch hockey anymore & I don't know if anyone mentioned this already...

but I saw some of the last Chicago game and I have to give the Black Hawks props for the music they play after they score a goal. If I was the other team or the other team's fans, I would really be pissed to hear that. :w00t::thumbsup:

I figured I better find it and post it here since we won't be hearing much of it over the next week or two :w00t:
