So much for a second for Lynch

Recommended Posts

More likely it's GM speak for "we hoped someone would be stupid enough to give us a second, but the offers haven't even been in that ballpark, and he's clearly worth more to us on the team than he would be worth in a trade.@

Yeah, and Gaither is going to be a Raven for the next ten years.

He didn't last year, but he has shown that he is certainly capable of it.

Reid was backed into a corner, though. Anything less than that total denial - say if he'd said "we're not actively looking to trade him" would have caused a virtual riot in Philly and would have pissed McNabb off no end, which would not have been a good idea if they hadn't been able to trade him. Even a "no comment" would have been taken as a "yes."

He's 23 for god sakes. How can you judge a 3 year body of work like that!? The guy isnt 33, he's 23.

Are you specifically referring to the words you highlighted, "declining play?"

Because that was just a fact last year. His play declined. Lower YPA, less attempts because he simply wasn't getting the job done as well as Freddy.

Doesn't mean his play will continue to decline, but it certainly declined last year, and his age doesn't mitigate the facts.

Ha ha ha ha ha. Yeah. More efficient? Probably. More personally satisfying? None that I can see.

The thing is that I live in Tokyo, so while I sit and type up a few responses when I have time during the day, you guys in the states are all sleeping, so my responses all sit in a big clog at the end of the thread. Looks freaky, I know, but I don't really care.

I'm always surprised when I get to the end of the thread and find 4 or 5 of my own posts sitting in a row. I always imagine other people writing at the same time.

Yup. Called the quote function, which you showed to good effect in your post. Doesn't waste as much server space, either.
