tennesseeboy Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 The way the DA put it...there wasn't enough evidence to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that Rothlesberger committed a sexual assault, and the victim wasn't ready to go through a public trial. I don't think Rothlesberger has exactly cleared his name. Let's see what the commish does.
scotty0424 Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 He still has to worry about a civil action in which there doesn't have to be evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, only a "preponderance" of evidence. This thing could cost old Ben a bundle.
H2o Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 He still has to worry about a civil action in which there doesn't have to be evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, only a "preponderance" of evidence. This thing could cost old Ben a bundle. There will likely be a settlement involved and it will never go to trial as well. Either way, Ben needs to quit getting drunk and putting himself into these kinds of situations. Wise it would be in fact.
gobillsinytown Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I get a lot of Steelers coverage where I live, about an hour away from Pittsburgh. Based on what I'm hearing, Ben's in for a long year. Not only is he going to have to deal with Godell, but he's going to have to deal with the Rooneys. Then he's going to get pestered all year long by the reporters who cover the team. I don't know the guy personally, but I'd bet he's regretting going anywhere near that bar.
Leonidas Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 This was a ridiculously stupid "article." You guys shouldn't have responded and just let it fade away into TSW obscurity. It was already halfway down the page...
CarolinaBill Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 This was a ridiculously stupid "article." You guys shouldn't have responded and just let it fade away into TSW obscurity. It was already halfway down the page... its called satire
Leonidas Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 its called satire I know what it's called. In this particular case, it's also called "not funny."
grelit Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Where there is smoke there is fire....this is twice in a row now with this fat ass...
smuvtalker Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I thought the article was pretty hilarious...i got several guffaws out of it. Am I wrong for that?
CarolinaBill Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 I know what it's called. In this particular case, it's also called "not funny." Obviously, i will have to disagree with you on that, I found it extremely funny oh well, to each his own I suppose
smuvtalker Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Obviously, i will have to disagree with you on that, I found it extremely funny oh well, to each his own I suppose I second that. I got several good laughs out of it.
KD in CA Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I thought the article was pretty hilarious...i got several guffaws out of it. Am I wrong for that? Same here....KSK is usually very funny and this was no exception. People need to chill out with their indignation.
papazoid Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 a 3rd incident ?? http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports/neweng...uper-troubling/
KD in CA Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 a 3rd incident ?? http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports/neweng...uper-troubling/ Oh brother, here come the 'me too!' stories from every skank he's ever been near and their attention starved lawyers. Kinda like how every idiot who crashes their Toyota now comes up with a 'stuck accelerator' story.
sharper802 Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 He followed the girl into a bathroom. She was intoxicated. The doctor couldn't prove rape but she had evidence of intercourse. Only in Georgia can you get a DNA sample and have it be inconclusive. He had sex with someone who was unable to give consent. He is a f*&(ing piece of sh$t!!!!!!!!!!! I challenge anyone who has a daughter to say otherwise.
Chandler#81 Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 There will likely be a settlement involved and it will never go to trial as well. Either way, Ben needs to quit getting drunk and putting himself into these kinds of situations. Wise it would be in fact. Especially in such 'Hotspots' as Middlewhatever, Georgia Leodis, I found humor in it as well.
Mr. WEO Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 The way the DA put it...there wasn't enough evidence to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that Rothlesberger committed a sexual assault, and the victim wasn't ready to go through a public trial. John Adams Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 He followed the girl into a bathroom. I have a daughter. Evidence of intercourse does not equal rape. And evidence of intoxication does not equal inability to give consent.
