Jim in Anchorage
unbeliveable It was also the first time in NHL history three shorties had been scored on the same penalty kill.

Chef Jim
Fluke... BOS hustled and CAR was sleepwalking. No it wasn't a fluke. Boston hustled and Carolina didn't.
ExiledInIllinois
No it wasn't a fluke. Boston hustled and Carolina didn't. Remember CAR had nothing to lose... BOS had everything to gain! BOS only scored one more goal that game and that was an empty netter. BOS almost scored on themselves on a delayed penaly too. It was flukey on CAR's part. I meant fluke in that CAR was sleepwalking... I agree BOS totally outhustled them. Fluke in that not many teams will sleepwalk as bad as CAR did. So yes, very flukey given an NHL game. It was the first time in how many NHL games? That in itself defines it as a fluke. How many times did I use the term fluke. I am starting to rethink if BFLO should face BOS. Oh well... DC Tom
I feel sorry for Ward. Not that his goaltending was exactly anything to write home about in that series...but he was absolutely hung out to dry by his teammates.
